$/hr minimum - $/hr maximum (range increases based on education, experience and certifications)
- Provides leadership and direction for perioperative services at the hospital level (MHC and HRN).
- Safety
- Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.
- Record Keeping
- Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required, including but not limited to payroll, schedules and status changes.
- Department Management
- Maintains 24 hour accountability for department, making independent decisions to implement strategies and programs for patient care.
- Delegates authority and accountability to staff to ensure optimal outcomes and staff engagement.
- Evaluates effectiveness of unit/department based programs and processes to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Process Improvement
- Promotes a culture of process improvement by establishing unit/department based programs that supports the system’s process improvement goals.
- Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams.
- Staffing
- Manages the unit/department effectively in regards to staffing and staff supervision.
- Assesses facility perioperative management and leadership capabilities and hold managers and staff accountable for driving high performance.
- Develops data based performance and outcome metrics, tracks and trends data and leads change initiatives to move the metrics.
- Ensures compliance with all state and national licensing, governing body, and regulatory agency recommendations and standards.
- Leads efforts to improve patient, physician, and staff satisfaction.
- Optimizes utilization of both human and material resources, effectively allocating resources across surgical services.
- Oversees development of programs, policies and protocols that are integrated across the system to enhance operational efficiency, quality, patient safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for financial performance of perioperative services to include preparation of annual budgets, capital needs requirements, and contractual management.
- Supports the enhanced Surgical Services Leadership Council.
- Working with hospital leadership and system director, assures the care provided in all departments of surgical services is appropriate and matched with the site resources and capabilities.
- Advises hospital and system leadership of the resources and support required for service line expansion.
- Works with facility administrators to ensure perioperative services are smoothly and seamlessly integrated into each facility.
- Works with system director to market surgeons and surgical service lines.
Education
- Bachelor Degree Nursing
Licenses and Certification
- Current Illinois RN
Experience and Skills
- Technical Experience: 10 years in perioperative services
- Supervisory Experience: 5 years
