YMCA OF GREATER MICHIANA ASSOCIATION TRAINER

Job Title: Association Trainer
FLSA Status: Exempt Revision Date: 3/1/2024
Leadership Level: Team Leader Primary Function: Administrative

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Association Trainer will collaborate with business leaders to develop and execute innovative training programs for employees. As the Association Trainer, they will focus on designing and implementing best-in-class training programs, driving personal growth and service excellence. All duties must be performed in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards established by the corporate office while exemplifying the Y values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills.
  • Present information effectively to all audiences.

  • Understand training processes to achieve association goals.
  • Recognize and participate in the enhancement of training departments.
  • Multitask and work in a fast-paced, multiple-deadline environment.

  • Self-motivate and initiate creative new ideas with execution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites or related software.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build and utilize community partnerships in training.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Training Program Development

  • Analyze the training needs of each department to develop innovative training programs or enhance existing ones.
  • Design comprehensive and engaging training curricula tailored to meet organization and unique requirements of each department.

Continuously enhance training solutions based on feedback and performance metrics.

Training Coordination

  • Coordinate and schedule training sessions with a focus on optimizing participation and minimizing disruption to daily operations.
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify training priorities and schedule sessions accordingly.

Conduct Training Sessions

  • Design and deliver captivating training programs for employees at various levels, integrating diverse instructional techniques.
  • Maintain current training content to assure it is up to date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions that resonate with employees throughout the organization.
  • Cohesive training across program and organization areas.

Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts

  • Partner with internal subject matter experts and external vendors to enhance training content.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, incorporating relevant insights into training programs.
  • Facilitate the arrangement and coordination of external subject matter experts to host training sessions for specialized topics.
  • Collaborate with community partners to further enhance training.

New Hire Onboarding

  • Develop and facilitate orientation sessions for new hires, ensuring a seamless integration into the company culture.
  • Collaborate with HR and department leaders to create onboarding materials, including training manuals and resources.
  • Provide ongoing support to new employees, direct managers, and departments during their initial weeks.

Other Projects

  • Actively teach monthly CPR/First Aid, and AED training.
  • Prepare and implement training budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in human resources, Education, Business, or experience in related role.
  • Two years minimum experience in training with one year of supervisory experience required.
  • 1 Aid and CPR Certification preferred; training provided.
