We are currently accepting applications for an Associate Structural Engineer role for our Denver team, with an expected starting annual salary range of $95,000 -112,500. This position could also be filled at a Senior Associate Structural Engineer level with a starting annual salary range of $112,500 – 130,000.
We have a hybrid schedule for this role with two days in the office and the remaining three days in the field or remote.
Essential Functions
An Associate is a registered Professional Engineer and is responsible for understanding all aspects of the project being reviewed relative to its scope and client requirements.
- Act as technical team member and small project lead
- Collaborate with the client, internal team, consultants, and site contact, and is responsible for an overall understanding of their project
- Review and assess existing building construction and condition.
- Review and analyze contract documents including calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Perform seismic risk and property condition assessments
- Preparation of formal reports
- Experience in multi-family residential design and construction is desirable, however our work covers most commercial building types, including office, retail, industrial, and hotel/hospitality.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in architectural engineering, civil engineering, or Structural Engineering is required
- Minimum 10 years of industry-related experience (20 years preferred) at a Structural Engineering design or consulting company
- PE certification, preferably in Colorado
- Technical level of understanding of building types, building codes, and seismic lateral force-resisting systems in order to perform services of the organization with limited supervision
- Understanding of hazardous building types/features and site seismic hazards.
- Good understanding of Construction processes and activities
- Good understanding of building materials and methods
- Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, Plan Grid, and BOX
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
Candidates should have the ability to:
- Move through construction and existing building sites over rough terrain
- See and respond to dangerous situations
- Respond quickly to sounds
- Ascend and descend ladders and stairs
- Move safely through confined spaces and narrow paths
- Work in outdoor weather conditions or unconditioned areas
- Operate a computer and other related office equipment, and possess visual acuity to read information from printed sources and computer screens
- Lift up to 40 pounds (ladders)
- Travel approximately 50% of the time both in and out of state
