Form of workThe Associate Youth Minister will be responsible for engaging youth and young adults through new and existing programs. The Associate will work collaboratively with the Youth Ministry staff, the Faith Formation office, the School staff, and the Parish staff. This position will be a full member of the pastoral staff and will report to the Director of Youth Ministry. The position is full-time and is benefits-eligible.
Essential Functions
- Lead pastorate Summer Program
- Envision and execute a new summer camp serving and employing youth and young adults of St. Louis and St. Francis.
- Coordinate ministry for Young Adults (ages 18-35)
- Planning events for college students and young adults at the pastorate and regional levels.
- Support Retreat Programs for Teens
- Assist the Director of Youth Ministry and the CYM Office
- Help envision ways to engage and form youth through knowing, loving, and serving God.
- Support CYM events for Middle School, High School, College/Young Adult, and volunteers. Assist with CYM online presence and outreach.
Position Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years of youth ministry experience and/or theology-related degree preferred
- Familiarity with Catholic teaching, theology, tradition, and doctrines
- Familiarity with adolescent faith development, engagement, and their social and cultural environment
- Ability to engage in one-to-one and group dynamics with young people, parents, & Parish Staff
- Strong social media skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google tools
- Ability to maintain proper boundaries with youth and knowledge of Child Protection policies
