Summary/Function:
D.A. Davidson is seeking a strong senior candidate to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. In the role, you will be responsible for supporting the Wealth Management organization with insight driven reporting, forecasting & budgeting along with any additional activities which help guide sound financial decision making. As a senior member of the FP&A team, you will lead value-added financial analysis and provide empirical based guidance to the business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance knowledge, excellent communication skills, sound technical skills and high attention to detail. The ability to take initiative and interact effectively with business partners at all levels of the organization is highly desired.


Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
*Minimum of 5-7 years of relative professional experience in budgeting and financial statement preparation
*Strong analytical and decision-making skills, attention to detail and organizational skills
*Strong oral and written communications and human relation skills. The ability to relate well to all levels of management.
*Ability to function in an automated accounting environment. Highly proficient in computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft product suite)
*Ability to work effectively within in strict time constraints and pressure situations.
*Strong project management skills with experience leading team initiatives
*Ability to work independently and sometimes with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
*Understanding of department policies and procedures
*Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
*Highly motivated, proactive, high integrity, positive attitude, problem solve.
*Ability to travel (as needed, but infrequent)
*Maintain client confidentiality.
*Ability to communicate in a clear, service-oriented manner and use appropriate, professional language and grammar to effectively exchange ideas and information.
*Ability to proactively work with both external and internal clients.
*Ability to relate with others in a professional manner to accomplish work responsibilities and objectives.
*Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance.

Duties:
*Help lead in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements for Wealth Management (and potentially other company divisions when needed) for distribution to senior management, the Board of Directors, shareholders, and branch managers. Duties include:
*Collect and compile statistical information for Wealth Management, including, but not limited to employee statistics, asset values/increases and share data.
*Retrieve the complete financial workbook through the financial database, Adaptive Planning, examine for accuracy and update all statistical data.
*Help prepare the Executive Summary. This is a narrative explaining and analyzing the current financial results by business segment relative to the prior year levels and current budget. Explain underlying variances, trends, and themes.
*Assist in creating periodic performance reporting packages to be distributed to branch/segment manager.
*Answer any and all questions regarding the financial results presented in the reports and presentation.
*Help lead the annual budgeting process to contribute the financial goals of Wealth Management and the overall company. Correspond directly with senior management and branch managers to assist them in achieving targeted performance objectives through financial analysis of area operations and prudent expense control.
*Assist in the preparation of financial information required for the Board of Directors meetings. This includes financial statements and financial analysis for Wealth Management (and at times Davidson Trust Company and Davidson Institutional Advisors)
*Analyze monthly productivity for Wealth Management to assist senior management in their oversight of the business and producer.
*Daily, compile data to project company revenue levels for the current month. This must be provided to the management committee prior to month end.
*Maintain a log of Financial Advisor (FA) information to assist the CEO and CFO in the year-end performance evaluation of Regional Managers. This includes the number of FAs, date of hire, original trailing 12-month production, upfront loan amortization if loan was given, date of termination and trailing 12-month production at the time of termination. Track up-front and back-end notes to maintain compliance with the maximum set by the Board. Track up-front and back-end recruiting bonuses.
*Prepare a written branch office analysis as requested by the branch manager or senior management. Analyze the profitability of the branch, do a comparison to other branches, investigate variances from expected results and respond to questions.
*Assist senior management in analyzing business acquisition opportunities using profitability analysis and projections.
*Prepare an analysis to project the success of potential new FA hires. Analyze their profitability based on their trailing 12-month production from their previous firm, transition assistance given relative to rate of return over time and using projections of production and expense levels per FA for the respective branch.
*Prepare and maintain for senior management a complete monthly and year-to-date history of FA compensation, analyzing FA payout including net, bonus and deferred compensation by branch and business line.
*Identify areas of improvement and have a point of view towards a logical solution.
*Participate in annual and quarterly peer group compensation/benefit survey.
*Other duties, projects, and ad hoc analysis as necessary

The potential base pay hiring range for this role is $110,000 - $125,000. The compensation offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis considering a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the skills, relevant work experience, and geographic location of each specific candidate.
