Summary
Supports the sales & use tax compliance, audit, and customer care processes for the Online Brand Shop (OBS) business. Also supports LG’s general SALT compliance processes and projects as necessary.
Responsibilities
Accounting and Tax Calculation Systems:
- Ensure that sales and tax calculation reporting systems accurately capture sales detail by jurisdiction and properly compute sales tax
Customer Care:
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding tax matters
- Prepare resale certificate (“RC”) packages for customer review and interact with customers to obtain consent regarding their state exemption status
- Create and periodically update customer RC history files
- Maintain the RC master file within the sales tax calculation system
- Manage the collection and retention of paper and electronic customer RC documentation
- Assist with providing RC documentation in support of audits
Tax Compliance Systems:
- Ensure tax compliance systems are accurately reporting sales by jurisdiction and the proper amount of tax is being remitted
- Maintain customer data in the sales tax calculation system
- Monitor changes in tax rules applicable to transactions and ensure tax systems are updated accordingly
General SALT Support:
- Provide support when necessary to:
- Sales & use tax compliance processes for other LG legal entities and business units
- LG’s overall gross receipts tax, property tax, and unclaimed property compliance processes
- Other special projects
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree with 1+ years relevant experience
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Vertex and ONESOURCE Sales and Use Tax software package is a plus
