AssociateProduction Planner
Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for coordinating all phases of manufacturing to satisfy customer and corporate requirements by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Reviews Sales orders daily and schedule production as needed to maintain product lead times.
  • Communicates with manufacturing and sets the manufacturing schedule by prioritizing the production schedule - daily.
  • Communicates with customer care ship date information pertaining to new sales orders - daily.
  • Updates the RTS Sheet in a timely manner with new orders before 7AM and with end of day information by 3PM.
  • Ensures all process procedures are followed and documented - daily.
  • Maintains relationship with shipping, warehouse, production and tooling to insure efficient communication.
  • Reviews open orders weekly to insure open orders are on track for the assigned ship dates.
  • Properly schedule production to regularly meet budgeted demands
  • Scheduling labor for hand assembly production (outside of molding)

Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Database Software (JDE); Manufacturing Software; Microsoft Office programs (Word / Excel)

  • Forklift certification. On the job training is available.

  • Production supervisors and managers: Effective communication of the production schedule, identify and rectify bottlenecks, establish priorities and goals.
  • Sales and Customer Service: Communicate anticipated ship dates and any changes that effect ship dates. Discuss custom product requirements, clarify customer expectations.
  • Maintenance personnel: Evaluate equipment repairs and associated down time that could effect the production schedule.
  • Ability to be flexible, work under pressure and multi-task. The production schedule changes by the hour as sales orders come into the system.
  • Bi-Lingual is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Epicor software through on the job training.
  • The Production Planner must have the ability to prioritize daily tasks as well as prioritize work flow within manufacturing. It is a job with a lot of interaction between departments and there must be time allocated to working with a great deal of focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
DaVinci Roofscapes is a manufacturing facility. There are molding machines, compounding lines, and scrap recycling equipment. The Production Planner may be exposed to production equipment from time to time.
