Bioworld Merchandising is a leading design and distribution company of licensed and private label apparel, headwear & accessories to all retails channels. We are currently seeking Associate Product Designer to join our team of outstanding employees!

Associate Product Designers are responsible to research, concept, present, and instruct sample development for licensed accessories. It is a position where an appetite for continued learning is essential. It is a position which requires great competency in translating an idea into a visual concept. It is a position in which presenting and communicating product concepts to each peers, clients, development partners, & customers is a daily occurrence. The position is central in building design solutions. This asks that Product Designers are talented in building a consensus between the needs of each our company, clients, manufacturing partners, & customers. It is a position that requires a passion not just for how graphics and products appear but in how they are made.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • a deep and versatile portfolio of graphic and product design.
  • a great eye for design and drive to maintain a high quality of work.
  • a drive to get their work out into the hands of consumers.
  • Experience growing and maintaining a category line of business
  • experience in managing team schedule and delegating tasks
  • 1-3 experience working in the travel category.
  • 1-3 experience working in the design and product development.
  • experience in a product lifecycle management software (PLM)
  • experience leading projects through a calendar/project management software
  • had worked within retail sales or merchandising, namely apparel or accessories. That is a great asset to this position.
  • designed and developed quality samples of product through a supplier or even crafted them on their own. Professionally or personally. We want to see your best work whether professional or amateur!
  • a passion for fan culture and product. Keeping up with our niche of fandom comes much easier with some personal bingeing, exploration, and curation of licensed merch.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO

  • a candidate with 1 or more years’ experience in the field of design
  • must be fluent in each Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, & In Design. When given a task to concept an idea the candidate can competently do so without needed instruction on the software.
  • must be fluent in Microsoft Teams & Outlook
  • must be versatile in using each MAC and Microsoft products.
  • be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the operations of the given line of business
  • keep an active pulse of the market. Shop the assortment each online and in stores. Document the assortments found with detailed research of active customers, potential customers, product counts, brands, suppliers, countries of origin, competitors, materials, product features, and prices. Keep pulse of consumer reviews and where design solutions are needed.
  • lead in the collaboration with sales development partners on line planning
  • lead in research and set category trends each season. Bring forward new opportunities.
  • define goals & best case scenarios with design management, peers, clients, customers, and manufacturing partners.
  • ideate and interpret best case ideas into product concepts. Partner with design management, peers, clients, customers, and manufacturing partners to challenge and proof product concepts. Build on those ideas and keep driving forward.
  • enter product concepts into and manage products within product lifecycle management software adhering to the requirements of the organization, clients, customers, and manufacturing partners.
  • address product concept comments from the organization, clients, customers, and manufacturing partners. Develop design solution which accommodate best interests of all partners involved while maintaining the integrity of the design.
  • develop product development instructions for our manufacturing partners to create quality and right priced samples against approved concepts. Develop design solutions to accommodate differences in our instruction and manufacturing partners recommendation.
  • review and comment on product samples arrived from our manufacturing partners. Update the product development instructions as needed to meet satisfaction of clients, customers, and our own standards.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

  • Bachelor’s degree

BUSINESS HOURS

Hours of operation: Monday-Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm, and as needed to meet business goals and objectives. Hybrid schedule, 3 days in office and 2 days from home, and able to work the hours needed to get the work completed.

SALARY RANGE

$55,000.00- $65,000.00
