Vision IT provides strategic consulting services to meet mission IT requirements for our government clients.
We seek the services of an Associate Network Engineer to support the Engineering/Installation/Training tasks related to the Network aspects or an enduring Army capability.
The selected candidate will provide services in support of the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM). You will provide operational and technical engineering support for the implementation, testing, integration, interoperability, and sustainment of information technologies comprising NETCOM Enterprise capabilities. You will support engineering support, testing, and technical support in the implementation of the Network Operations (NetOps) capabilities. You will support government efforts in the continued deployment of enterprise NetOps capabilities that directly support the Army's maturing transformation and modularity concepts, doctrine, architecture, and organizations. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting the NETCOM mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • AA/AS +2, or BS/BA (Years of professional experience may substitute for a degree(s))
  • IAT II (Must have the Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) and 1 of the following: GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP) at hire
  • CEH or equivalent within 60 days
  • Active Secret Clearance - TS/SCI Strongly Desired

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Working within a team environment performing daily management of firewall and other network changes
  • Providing daily management, troubleshooting, and support of networking-related issues, establishing and maintain relationships with internal and external users
  • Implementing the necessary tools to proactively troubleshoot and where necessary assist and provide support to third parties to solve network connectivity problems
  • Working in a team environment to manage the installation of products and resources to meet the needs and requirements of our WAN and LAN network-based services
  • Optimizing the availability of network system architectures to deliver cost-effective improvements that in turn deliver tangible business benefits
  • Must be willing to participate in 7x24 shift and on call rotation
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways etc.
  • Deals with pressure and conflict decisively and effectively

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current active DHS SCI and EOD
  • Previous experience developing Python/Bash/Perl or similar scripts
