Chipton-Ross is seeking an Associate NDT Quality Test Specialist for a contract opportunity in San Antonio, TX.
*This position is 100% ONSITE.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General knowledge of Eddy Current NDT on aircraft and related components such as bolt holes, corrosion/thickness, surface/sub-surface and conductivity.
- Analyzes routine data.
- Assists with standard corrective action recommendations.
- Documents and communicates standard test, analysis or measurement results to customers through entries in quality records and/or test reports.
- Performs setup of routine test or measurement equipment. Performs routine tests. Assists in the documentation of
procedures and technique sheets for setting up test equipment.
- Performs setup of test or measurement equipment to controlled standards. Assists in the documentation of procedures for test equipment setup.
- General understanding of techniques of non-destructive evaluation processes.
HARD REQUIREMENTS:
If hired, successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Lift less than 25 pounds (Occasional lifting of 21-35 pounds), bend and twist at the waist, walk, crawl, crouch, stand for long periods, kneel, reach, climb/balance, flexion/extension
Contact with sealants and solvents, exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms
Use personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hand, and arms as required.
Experience understanding and interpreting detailed written and verbal work instructions and processes
Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material
Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities
Occasional (1 to 3 hrs.) finger manipulation
Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hrs.)
Frequent walking on flat surfaces
Frequent standing flat or uneven surfaces
Frequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfaces
Occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or stands
Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/stoop, lying down, and operate foot controls
Occasional contact with metals
Exposure to plastics and solvents to atmospheric conditions
Frequent exposure to noise
1+ year NDT Quality Test Specialist experience
Capable of working a variable shift
Current certification in NDT Level II for Eddy Current, Ultrasonic Testing, Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Radiography.
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years NDT Quality Test Specialist experience
Associate's degree or higher
Experience working with regulatory agencies (DCMA, FAA, and/or Military)
Current certification in NDT Level II for Magnetic Particle Testing and Radiographic Testing
IRRSP Card - Individual Radiographer Radiation Safety Program (currently possess or able to obtain)
CR X-Ray experience and documented training
MAUS experience (Mobile Automated Ultrasonic Scanner) portable c-scan system, Low Frequency ET, Shear wave
F-18, C-17, F15, 747, 787, B-52 NDI experience a plus
EDUCATION:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.). Education must be accredited.
FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT
WORK HOURS: 5:30 AM - 2:30 PM
MISCELLANEOUS:
This position will require the ability to obtain customer approval for access. Dual citizenship or prior citizenship of any other country may preclude ability to obtain access. A 3rd party background check relating to personal and business finances, residences, employment history, past drug use, prior military service, and criminal behavior will be conducted prior to a start date.
