Job Description
- Exercise sound clinical and professional judgment.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude in face-to-face interactions as well as on social media.
- Help to maintain the safety, comfort, and appearance of your office, break room, and waiting room.
- Schedule and hold 45-60 minute sessions with individuals, couples, and families to improve mental health. Help clients to define and work on their goals for therapy.
- Promptly communicate back with and schedule client referrals, promptly communicate with staff and supervisor, promptly communicate back with community and referral sources.
- Complete intake assessments and complete progress notes for every session billed.
- Effectively create and carry out treatment plans using evidence-based practices.
- Attend staff meetings and supervision meetings, present cases, give feedback to other clinicians, and assist in emotionally supporting other clinicians.
- Complete invoices, bill payments and progress notes within 24 hours of time of service.
- Complete timesheet daily reflecting billable hours worked.
- Maintain client’s charts and keep complete and correct documentation.
- Complete discharge summaries as needed for each client.
- Notify The Mountford Marriage and Family Therapy Group, Corp within 24 hours if you:
- 1. Learn of your client’s intent to do harm to self or others; or Tarasoff
- 2. Receive a subpoena in relation to your work as a therapist regarding a client obtained via The Mountford Marriage and Family Therapy Group, Corp or counseling services performed at The Mountford Marriage and Family Therapy Group, Corp’s facilities or
- 3. Files a child or adult protective services report.
- Seek assistance from supervisors, other treatment providers, colleagues, CAMFT, or lawyers when needed.
- Treat all clients with dignity and respect. Provide high quality of care. Ask for and give Support.
- Ability to empathize with clients.
- Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling or related field and licensed or pre-licensed in the state of California (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD, PhD, Associate MFT, Associate PCC, etc.).
- Basic computer literacy ability to comply with department needs and expectations (i.e., electronic medical record documentation, obtaining background information and reports on patients, following up on appointments, etc.)
- Maintain licensure requirements and completed continuing education as stated in the BBS Statutes and Regulations.
- Clinical experience with children, teens, adults and/or families with mental health issues (trauma, anxiety, depression, family issues, couples’ issues, parenting, etc.)
- Knowledge of strategies for examining, applying and evaluating various techniques from cognitive-behavioral, child/adult attachment, play therapy, family systems, etc.
- Maintain current malpractice insurance coverage, at a minimum of individual at 1 million and total yearly for 3 million
- Provide The Mountford Marriage and Family Therapy Group Corp with copies of the following: current and valid California professional license, certifications, diplomas, malpractice insurance, up to date resume reflecting employment at The Mountford Marriage and Family Therapy Group Corp.
