About the Role

As the Associate Manager of Global Security at Gap Inc.'s flagship San Francisco headquarters, you hold a vital leadership role within our physical security operations, guiding our dedicated teams across both the San Francisco and Pleasanton locations. Your leadership extends beyond conventional security tasks; it is key to bolstering our brand prestige, nurturing enduring customer relationships, and solidifying our steadfast commitment to our team and organizational values.

By directing a dynamic team, which includes personnel available 24/7, you are pivotal in their professional growth, competency, and operational readiness. In addition to incident handling and detailed investigations, you are now recognized as the principal leader for crisis and emergency responses, tasked with swift and decisive action to safeguard our people and premises during critical situations. Your diligent approach to recruiting and training new security team members further underscores your dedication to our high security standards and operational efficacy.
Your role as the Associate Manager of Global Security is crucial in cultivating a secure, responsive, and welcoming environment at Gap Inc., echoing our Asset Protection Strategy's goal to support a billion-dollar business by protecting our People, Assets, and Brands. Your leadership not only upholds but also advances our commitment to providing a safe, secure setting that aligns with our esteemed global brand identity.

What You'll Do

  • Design and execute comprehensive training programs, enhancing team skills and ensuring preparedness for a variety of security scenarios.
  • Employ Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to meticulously evaluate the security operations' effectiveness, aligning performance with the strategic goals and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to integrate security measures into the overall physical security program, liaising with Global Security leadership to ensure security strategies are cohesively aligned with broader business objectives.
  • Lead the strategic response to incidents and investigations, adopting a proactive and decisive approach to manage emergencies, thereby safeguarding personnel and assets against internal and external threats.
  • Manage the onboarding, continuous training, and performance evaluation processes for security personnel, ensuring the team's capabilities and readiness.
  • Develop robust relationships with local law enforcement and emergency response agencies, optimizing collaboration and response.
  • Coordinate and oversee security planning measures for VIP visits, high-profile meetings, and special events.
  • Administer the procurement, maintenance, and lifecycle management of security-related assets, technology, and equipment.
  • Act as the primary leader for emergency response strategies and crisis management, maintaining readiness to address any situation that occur onsite.
  • Guide the adoption of security systems, such as access control and video surveillance, ensuring seamless security integration into the daily physical security operations.
  • Demonstrate exceptional command of computer systems, especially Microsoft Office Suite, to facilitate effective communication, reporting.

  • Experience with crisis management and emergency response, capable of leading decisively and effectively in high-pressure scenarios.
  • Proficient in project management, with a record of successfully overseeing security projects and technology integration.
  • Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
