Job description

TMC, a LinQuest company is seeking an Associate Industrial Engineer to join our team onsite in Las Cruces, NM. Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance is required
The Associate Industrial Engineer assists with determining the most effective means for an organization to use capital, equipment, energy, facilities, information, material, people, and other assets to make a product or service. Assists with planning the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations. Studies product or service and its requirements, using mathematical methods such as operations research, to meet those requirements and design manufacturing and information systems.
Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recommendations of methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
  • Assist in planning layout to provide maximum possible operating efficiency.
  • Assist with measuring and studying available floor space and draws plan of floor space to scale, using drafting tools or computer-assisted design/drafting equipment.
  • Assist with production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods that are applied and activities that take place in manufacturing and services.
  • Assist with sequence of operations to be performed and flow of business and materials.
  • Assist with providing all available knowledge and information into finished scale drawing, showing most efficient location of personnel, equipment, and necessary working area around each.
  • Assist in working measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
  • Assist in developing management systems for cost analysis, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • BS/BA Industrial Engineering or Related Field

  • 0-3 years of Industrial Engineering experience
  • Apply science and/or engineering techniques to develop economical solutions to technical problems.

  • Exemplifies our core values

  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Excellent decision-making capabilities
  • Proficiency with MS desktop applications
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint, or other MRP software
  • Possess a valid driver's license

Preferred:
  • Advanced degree in related field
  • PMP Certification
