Associate I
Summary:
The Associate I role is responsible for learning and applying his/her technical skills and working as part of a team carrying out tasks under close coaching and supervision.
Essential Functions:
Serve as a support staff on audit engagements including but not limited to the following:
- Carry out audit procedures for assigned audit areas based on audit program steps.
- Interact with audit client to gather information.
- Review client information and apply audit procedures.
- Prepare audit work papers and analyze client information,
- Follow up with client as necessary for additional information.
- Assist in preparing proposed adjusting journal entries.
- Assist in preparing GAAP based financial statements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Accounting (Master of Accounting preferred)
- 0 to 2 years of public accounting experience
- CPA eligible
- Knowledge of GAAP regulations and principles
- Developing technical knowledge.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Team player with a positive – ‘can do’ approach.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to synthesize and analyze data and provide accurate findings.
- A general and growing knowledge of firm products and services in the practice area, and a general knowledge of products and services in other practice areas.
