Wrike is looking for an Associate General Counsel to work closely with its sales, marketing, and customer success teams. As part of your wide-ranging responsibilities, you'll offer commercial and privacy advice, negotiate transaction agreements, and push for process improvements. You'll thrive in this role if you have a background in commercial law or privacy, deep knowledge of various privacy regulations, experience in supporting marketing teams and commercial transactions, and a prowess for negotiation and effective communication. How You'll make an impact- Have broad responsibility for providing practical day-to-day commercial legal support globally for the sales, marketing, and customer success teams
- Provide commercial and privacy advice and counsel to sales and marketing teams
- Collaborate with Product and Security teams on privacy issues that impact customer and vendor agreements and go-to-market initiatives
- Negotiate and independently identify creative legal solutions for commercial transactions, including customer subscription agreements, data processing agreements, and business associate agreements
- Support procurement team on negotiation of various vendor agreements with a focus on sales support and marketing technology tools
- Identify and independently pursue process improvements for both outbound and inbound transactions
- Develop and revise contract templates and processes, as necessary, based on changes in our product offerings, organization, and/or privacy laws
- Advise internal business partners regarding legal issues including compliance with the CCPA/CPRA and other U.S. state privacy laws, GDPR, e-Privacy Directive, and other privacy regulations
- Admitted to a US state bar or licensed/qualified in an EU member state and in good standing
- 7+ years of combined experience practicing as a commercial and/or privacy attorney within a law firm or software technology company
- 2+ years in-house experience at a software technology company
- Privacy subject matter expertise, including privacy regulations (GDPR, e-Privacy Directive, CCPA, CPRA, etc.) and the ability to incorporate evolving requirements into customer facing agreements and sales/marketing business practices
- Experience supporting Marketing teams, including familiarity with marketing technologies and advertising technology tools and advising on related privacy issues
- Experience supporting commercial transactions, SaaS, and enterprise B2B transactions
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, including ability to explain nuanced privacy concepts to internal and external parties and tailor approach to the audience
- Excellent drafting, written and verbal communication skills and ability to adapt legal requirements in balanced, creative and pragmatic ways to facilitate communication at all levels of the organization
- Certified Information Privacy Professional or equivalent
- Prior experience with a fast growing, private technology company
Salary Range: $160,000.00 - $186,300.00 USD (base).
