Job Title:Associate General Counsel
Location: ARC Health - Remote/Hybrid
Job Summary
As an Associate General Counsel at ARC Health OPCO, you will play a pivotal role in supporting this innovative Management Service Organization (MSO) for mental healthcare. Located in Independence, Ohio, this position offers a hybrid work environment and reports to the Chief Administrative Officer. Your primary responsibilities will involve serving as a strategic partner in human resources and compliance for business clients, addressing employee relations and employment issues. You will craft policies and agreements, mitigate compliance risks, manage employment litigation matters, and conduct investigations. Additionally, you'll provide employment counsel, communicate with external legal counsel, and engage with internal and external stakeholders. This role demands strong research and communication skills, a solid understanding of employment law, and a commitment to ethical guidelines. Responsibilities:
- Primary HR partner to business clients regarding employee relations, human resources, and compliance issues
- Strategize with partners and Human Resources to create and deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Develop, draft, and implement policies, procedures, and agreements for a variety of human resources and employment-related issues.
- Lead Corporate Compliance team and strategy as it relates to Healthcare compliance
- Anticipate and mitigate potential compliance problems as they pertain to employment matters.
- Develop strategies to reduce potential areas of risk.
- Assist with oversight of employment litigation matters, including management of EPLI panel counsel.
- Ability to negotiate and draft agreements as appropriate.
- Research and draft documents related to employment law updates.
- May conduct employment-related investigations.
- Regularly present human resources and compliance training
- Work collaboratively and effectively with others
- Productively work from home with minimal supervision
- Engage in significant client interaction for HR compliance.
- Provide employment counsel.
- Communicating with outside counsel
- Builds collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to have crucial conversations involving the proper stakeholders with tact and decorum.
- Ability to manage through ambiguity and ever-changing timelines and business assumptions.
- Organizes and manages the work and resources of his/her business unit to optimize productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
Education:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Must be admitted to State Bar in OH, NY, NJ, PA, CT, RI, or M
Experience:
- At least three (3) years of employment litigation experience
- OH, NY, NJ, PA, CT, RI, or MA and multistate employment law experience.
- Experience handling employment-related audits and drafting agency responses
- Additional proficiency in another language
- MSO or ASO experience is preferred
- Strong research and writing skills regarding employment law issues.

- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to abide by ethical guidelines and policies, including strict adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.

- Ability to prioritize and execute deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
- May require long periods of sitting and standing.
- Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.
Minimum salary/hourly: $115,000
Maximum salary/hourly: $135,000

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education.
