Associate Engineer

Summary
Candidate will work with the Engineering Team to come up with ideas for new and or improved product design.
Duties and Responsibilities Engineer:
1. Inspect lines and figures for clarity and return erroneous drawings to designer for correction.
2. Prepare parts sketches and write work orders and purchase requests to be furnished by outside contractors.
3. Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.
4. Draft detail drawing or sketch for completion or to request parts fabrication by machine shops.
5. Review project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, and objectives, and test nature of technical problems such as redesign.
6. Review project instructions and specifications to identify, modify and plan requirements fabrication, assembly and testing.
7. Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components for products.
8. Evaluate tool drawing designs by measuring drawing dimensions and comparing with original specifications for form and function using engineering skills.
9. Discuss changes in design, method of manufacture and assembly, and drafting techniques and procedures with engineering staff and coordinate corrections.
10. Confer with technicians and submit reports of test results to engineering department and recommend design or material changes.
11. Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.

Accountability:
Associate Engineer is accountable to the Senior Engineer.
Skills and Educational Requirements:
1. Engineering Degree
2. The ability to listen to and understand the information and ideas presented by customers and come up with a solution.
3. The ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem.
4. CAD 

Physical and Time Demands:
1. Work any given day, which may include evenings, Saturday or Sunday.
2. Have the physical ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibility Level:
Intermediate - Ensure that customer timing needs are met while ensuring all corporate policies and procedures are followed.
Authority Level
Authority level is Low. The Engineer is authorized to do the following:
1. Make purchases of parts and supplies needed to effectively make prototypes of new or improved designs with prior approval from the Senior Engineer and CEO and proper PO from the Purchasing Department.
2. Drive company vehicle to travel to lease sights, customer meetings and deliver items to customers.
3. Sign delivery and packing receipts showing proof of delivery or receipt of parts or products.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $66,560.00 per year
