Job description

This is Cambridge, MA based position.

TargetCancer Foundation is a patient-founded non-profit organization based in Cambridge, MA that is dedicated to rare cancer Research and patient support. TargetCancer Foundation directly supports initiatives at the forefront of rare cancer treatment by funding innovative research, developing patient-centric clinical studies, and by raising awareness for rare cancers publicly.

As TargetCancer Foundation (TCF) significantly expands its Research and advocacy programs, it is seeking an Associate Director/Director of Researchand Clinical Engagement to join a small and focused team that is dedicated to developing initiatives that deliver patient impact while simultaneously driving rare cancer research forward. This role will be filled at either an Associate Director or Director level based on candidate experience and credentials.

Currently, TCF’s primary research program is TCF-001 TRACK, an IRB-approved clinical trial (NCT04504604) recruiting 400 patients to study precision medicine in rare cancers. The TRACK study website can be viewed at targetcancerfoundation.org/track.

The Associate Director/Director of Researchand Clinical Engagement will collaborate directly with TCF management to manage and oversee TRACK, and also define future TCF Research and Clinical studies. In addition, candidates must bring a commitment to detail and accuracy in all work.

The Associate Director/Director of Researchand Clinical Engagement will work directly with the CEO on various responsibilities:

· Manage existing TCF clinical research studies, including management of Clinical Operations staff and contractors.

· Assist in the design of clinical research studies, patient recruitment plans, and study management processes.

· Serve as a liaison between TCF and external academic investigators, industry partners, and other collaborators.

· Identify potential advocacy and scientific partners, and foster partnerships and collaborative opportunities.

· Define strategic priorities and vision for ongoing and future rare cancer research initiatives.

· Collaborate with TCF staff on the development and facilitation of annual Think Tank scientific research meetings.

· Manage existing and future TCF research grants.

The ideal candidate for this position brings knowledge of clinical Research and patient advocacy, as well as innovative thinking and energy as a key contributor in developing and managing a portfolio of rare cancer research initiatives. In addition, they would bring a willingness to work closely with a small, collaborative team in a dynamic environment, and provide support on various other projects related to TargetCancer Foundation’s overall work when needed.

This position also requires the ability to travel and represent TargetCancer Foundation at various conferences and networking events throughout the year.

This is a hybrid position, based at TCF’s Cambridge, MA offices, and allowing for remote work.
