Job Description
The Associate Director, Supply Planning is responsible for end-to-end Supply Planning of our late stage programs. With plans to enter registration and validation campaigns, this role will be critical in leading the transition to commercial supply management from our current clinical supply team. This important role will work closely with the commercial team to understand and translate commercial demand into end-to-end supply plans. You will actively engage with our network of CDMOs to communicate long range forecasts, manage production orders, and oversee the execution of deliveries, all while managing inventory, service level, and cost targets.
As this is Bicycle’s first Supply Planning role, this individual will play a critical role in establishing commercial supply chain processes and ways of working. The incumbent will lead the ERP implementation of NetSuite Inventory Management for the organization, along with other planning tools. You will manage master data, inventory transactions, and reconciliation in NetSuite and be responsible for BOM creation, change control, and setup of new programs in the ERP as they become late-stage.
You will be excellent at stakeholder communication, building effective relationships and managing multiple demands and shifting priorities. You are organized, and excel at developing plans, managing progress, and delivering results.
This position will collaborate with other members of CMC, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, and Finance teams to enable launch readiness, ongoing commercial supply, and lifecycle management of our late-stage and commercial programs. This position will be based in Cambridge, MA and will report to the Vice President of Commercial Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for aggregation of global demand and generation of long range supply plans to satisfy demand, service levels and inventory and cost targets
- Oversee late-stage CDMOs to manage ongoing supply plans, ensure capacity, and drive performance
- Lead implementation of inventory management ERP capability in NetSuite, in partnership with external implementation partner (consultant)
- Assess and implement additional planning tools/capabilities as needed, to support S&OP processes, enable scenario planning, and analyze COGS and long range spend forecasts
- Responsible for management of inventory transactions in NetSuite, ensuring near-real-time visibility to stock and disposition status and accountable for inventory accuracy across the supply chain
- Manage master data across the supply chain, including lifecycle management
- Design and lead an S&OP process for Bicycle®, working collaboratively across Commercial, Finance, CMC, and associated functions
- Designs, implements, and monitors risk mitigation strategies
- Supports supply agreement negotiations with ad-hoc analyses, strategic and operational input, and review/alignment
- Proactively analyzes inventory and communicates potential supply issues, while collaborating in the development and implementation of mitigation strategies
- Working closely with product launch teams, ensures adequate supply and replenishment plans in line with launch scenarios
- Build and maintain strong partnerships and provide effective communications with all internal and external stakeholders. Lead discussion, problem solving efforts and process improvements to ensure that performance targets are met or exceeded
- Develop launch and tech transfer plans, along with supply partners, to support global launch timelines, operational harmonization, risk mitigation, and timely execution of production activity
- Establishes KPIs, reports, and monitoring tools. Negotiates business targets with supply partners, and collaborates to effectively manage performance
Qualifications
Essential:
- Extensive experience in supply/production planning, inventory management, or related roles in a GxP environment
- Experience working within a Pharma, Biotech, or Life Sciences industry
- Educated in Engineering, Science or related field.
- Detailed knowledge and hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP
- APICS CSCP or CPIM certification a plus
- Significant experience managing contract manufacturing organizations
- Demonstrated experience in a GMP manufacturing environment with hands-on manufacturing experience or CMO oversight responsibility preferred
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation
- Familiarity with manufacturing and supply chain contracts a significant advantage
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally required, up to 25%
