The Position
The Strategic Finance team runs the annual update of the Long-Term Forecast (LTF) for North America Operations (NAO). The process relies on collaboration with cross-functional subject matter experts, high level of market understanding and excellent analytical capabilities to develop and maintain complex forecasting models. This role leads development of financial analysis for internal development options based on a holistic market view including scenario modelling and trade-off analysis to provide strategic recommendations across the Novo Nordisk portfolio. Supports evaluation of external business development opportunities.
Relationships
Reports to a Director in Strategic Finance. Internal interactions include stakeholders across the NAO organisation as well as global counterparts to ensure long-term forecast coordination across Novo Nordisk. External relationships may include interactions with various subject matter experts and vendors based on the needs of special projects or implementation of new programs.
Essential Functions
Proactively engages with key stakeholders to develop identified financial scenarios and support the development of NNI enterprise and portfolio strategy development impacting investment allocation and profile within therapy areas as well as across NNIIndependently drives cross-functional business cases and ad-hoc projects from idea to recommendationResponsible for a minimum of three different Therapeutic AreasWorks with longitudinal patient-level data such as IQVIA LAAD to derive business insights to reflect current market trends in long-term forecasts that will drive commercial go-to-market strategyActively coordinate and align with other forecast process owners to ensure synchronization and consistency with the strategic scenario forecast process where relevantReview forecasting and scenario model outputs and findings for reasonableness and summarize with recommendations for discussion and alignment without oversight before presentation to stakeholder groupsDerives financial recommendations independently based on internal and external analyses and investment alternativesWill be part of the Strategic Finance team that has the mandate to actively manage the strategic scenario forecasting at NNI in support of the long-term business strategy for Novo Nordisk Inc. to ensure evidence-based foundation for strategic direction for NNI and the Business UnitsEstablish and continuously adapt NNIs strategic forecasting process to guide and coordinate various levels of cross-organizational input to strategic forecasts in guidance of strategy development, business development and ad hoc scenariosMaintains an enterprise lens to ensure enterprise-wide initiatives, scenarios, risks, and opportunities are reflected in the financial scenariosEnsures alignment of BU and Functional (Diabetes Sales, Market Access, and Medical) processes to NNIs scenario forecasting process in order to drive simplicity, accuracy, and efficiency relative to pursuing common goalsPartners with BUs to facilitate development of relevant financial scenarios for business unit and portfolio strategy developmentDevelops recommendations to business unit heads as well as senior leadership based on financial analyses of strategic questions/options and provide evidenced-based recommendationsConducts trade-off analyses to inform investment decisionsPartners with Enterprise Strategy, Commercial Insights and Analytics, PCOR, Market Access, Public Affairs and CMR as well as and BU leaders to drive and align strategic scenario forecasting inputs and outputsServes as liaison and strong collaborator with NNI and Global stakeholdersSeen as subject matter expert within field and provides sparring and input to colleagues and key stakeholders
Physical Requirements

Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance and or relevant field of study is required, advanced degree is preferredA minimum of 6 years of progressively relevant financial planning, strategic planning, merger and acquisition, and/or consultancy experience requiredRelevant advanced degree may be substituted for up to two years of relevant experienceRecognized as a functional expert in Excel and Powerpoint. Extensive experience with complex financial modelling and sales forecasting requiredStrategy development as well as Business Development experience strongly preferredUnderstanding of the external marketplace and familiarity in metabolic disease areas preferredKnowledge of longitudinal patient level data. Ability to work with large and complex datasets and derive clear and simple business insightsStrategic thinker with excellent analytical and financial forecasting ability. Ability to collaborate across all functions and levelsStrong decision-making skills through demonstrated ability to leverage evidenced-based insights and sound judgement into strategy development, deployment and optimizationMust possess the ability to develop simple and clear communications and to present same to all levels of stakeholdersProject management, process development and change management experience a plusAbility to manage competing priorities; strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to streamline and simplify complex concepts for broader audience
