Position Summary
The Associate Director of PLM (Teamcenter) is a pivotal role responsible for driving the PLM technology vision and roadmap partnering with the Global Business Process Owner and cross-functional teams. This role acts as a functional and technical subject matter expert, responsible for solution design, and solution delivery. The role also involves managing PLM Systems Architecture and collaborating with other application teams for architectural and software development decisions. Additionally, this role contributes to the implementation of Digital Twin and Digital Thread strategy at Illumina.
Primary Responsibilities

  • People Management: Lead internal and external teams in a multi-vendor environment, including BAs, Developers, Architects, Testers, System Admins, and Support Engineers. Foster team growth and mentorship, oversee performance assessments, and career development
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Global Business Owners and process Leads to understand business needs and project prioritization. Actively represent IT in the GBP forums and SteerCo meetings.
  • Strategy: Develop a multi-year vision and roadmap for PLM aligning with Illumina's business needs and key stakeholder alignment.
  • Project Management: Create and manage project plans, define project scope, and provide implementation estimates.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee vendor relationships, including SOW management and change request approvals. Engage with Siemens and other implementation partners for support, updates, and enhancements related to Teamcenter, Polarion, Jama and CAD applications.
  • Delivery: Ensure the successful execution of projects within the portfolio for enterprise PLM (Teamcenter) and ALM (Polarion, Jama) applications.
  • Service Operations: Manage incident/problem/request processes for PLM/ALM functions, maintain SLAs for system and application performance, and collaborate with external vendors and Application Management Service providers.
  • PLM Domain Expertise: Expertise in Design, Part, BOM, Doc, Change Management, Vendor Management, Quality, BOP, Variants, Requirements, Risk, CAPA, Deviation, and more.

Qualifications
  • 12+ years of PLM Teamcenter domain experience, including leadership in large-scale enterprise-wide greenfield and brownfield PLM implementations.
  • Familiarity with ISO Standards, design controls, FDA, CSV process, and regulatory domain knowledge is a plus.
  • Sound knowledge of Teamcenter architecture and various PLM domain functions.
  • Experience in leading/implementing integrations for PLM-ERP (preferably SAP), PLM - Labeling, PLM - CAD, PLM - PIM/PDM, PLM - ALM using various methodologies.
  • Experience in implementing PLM for Med Device companies preferred.
  • Experience in managing release cycles for continuous system improvement.
  • Experience in leading technology teams and delivering >$1MN projects.
  • Experience as IT leader with demonstrated influence across an organization.
  • Proven track record of successful software projects in a large-scale, high-growth environment.

Education
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or related fields) or equivalent experience. Higher level degrees and certifications a plus.

#LI-HYBRID
The estimated base salary range for the Associate Director of PLM role based in the United States of America is: $149,600 - $224,400. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
