ABOUT PATH
Since its foundation in 1984, PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) has pioneered bold and effective approaches to assist people experiencing homelessness. PATH operates services throughout California, connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention, street outreach, employment preparation and placement assistance, individualized case management, supportive services, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing.

WHAT IS THE ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF PHILANTHROPY AND COMMUNITY
AFFAIRS?
Reporting to the statewide Director of Philanthropy and Community Affairs with a dotted line to the Regional Director, the Associate Director of Philanthropy andCommunity Affairs is responsible for managing robust volunteer, in-kind, and philanthropic giving programs in Santa Clara County, creating systems to further engage, cultivate, and steward PATH supporters. The Associate Director of Philanthropy andCommunity Affairs will oversee all volunteer and Community engagement activities, recruit and steward regional volunteers and donors, support program activities, and support the long term sustainability and expansion of PATH's development, community engagement and advocacy initiatives. The Associate Director will carry a portfolio of donors and work to increase individual and corporate support for PATH.

  • • In partnership with the Director of Philanthropy and Community Affairs, build and implement effective strategies to
    engage new volunteers and supporters.
  • Manage a wide range of volunteer activities, from single volunteer shifts to large corporate groups, to create meaningful
    experiences that support PATH's mission.
    • Recruit and train volunteers, and ensure accurate record keeping and stewarding of volunteer information.
    • Carry a portfolio of mid-level donors and prospects, moving through the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and
    stewardship stages as appropriate.
    • Work collaboratively with the Special Events team to create local engagement opportunities for donors and prospects.
    • Represent PATH's mission to corporate, faith and Community organizations in Santa Clara County to ensure ongoing
    support of PATH's work.
    • Create strategies to ensure the ongoing growth and expansion of PATH's network of key partners and stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain an annual workplan and write quarterly reports on Philanthropy and Community Affairs
    programs and projects.
    • Supervise the Community Affairs Coordinator.
    • Must demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through inclusive service delivery, continued

WHAT YOU BRING

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with donors, board members, prospects, volunteers, and other
staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and coordinate multiple projects, tasks, and timelines simultaneously.
• High level of motivation and self-starting disposition.
• Proven ability to develop creative solutions.
• Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience supervising staff, students, interns, and/or volunteers.
• Experience in community outreach or homeless services.
• Knowledge of Donor Perfect, Better Impact, and/or similar donor management software.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 4 (four) years' experience in nonprofit fundraising, volunteer management, and event production.
• One (1) year of supervisory experience.

• Successful completion of background screening & drug test.
• Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings or weekends.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification through PATH.
• Driving is an essential function of this position. To meet the requirements of for this position, the incumbent:
- Must hold a valid CA Driver's License.

Must possess their own vehicle and provide proof of ownership.
- Must provide proof of insurance coverage.
- Must be able to qualify for PATH insurance coverage.


COVID-19 VACCINATION
Effective 11/01/2021 PATH will require all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. All prospective hires will be expected to provide proof of full vaccination as part of the pre-employment credentialing process.
