Advertised Job Summary
Associate Director for Employer Relations

The Associate Director for Employer Relations develops and implements strategic direction and oversees daily operations for the Employer Relations team. They manage all Employer Relations initiatives to include facilitation of employer recruitment activities through the delivery of a year-round employer programs and services which provide student access to employers, job and internships. In addition, they provide oversight for targeted employer outreach and ongoing employer engagement activities for the purpose of advancing full-time employment and experiential education opportunities for USC students and alumni.
Primary duties:
  • Marketing and Public Relations for Employer Relations and initiatives
  • Analysis, Planning and Assessment of trends, program and administrative oversight
  • Supervision and training of the diverse Employer Relations staff
  • Budget planning and oversight

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in related field and 3 years related program experience, or bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in employer or constituent relations, account management, human resources, sales/marketing, public relations, event planning, project management and/or public speaking is beneficial. Prior experience in leading, and setting strategic direction for, a team is an asset in this role. Prior experience using Customer Relations Management ( CRM) software is preferred. Prior background in higher education and/or university career services is strongly desired.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
The individual must have the ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Must have exceptional attention to detail, excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Must possess demonstrated abilities in customer service, teamwork, planning resource allocation (fiscal and personnel), anticipatory and critical thinking, problem solving, negotiation, facilitation, and coordination.

Works in close collaboration with Career Center marketing staff to develop Employer Relations-related marketing initiatives and/or collateral which promote Career Center recruitment services to employers.
Communicates with staff regarding key messaging for use in print and verbal communications.

ANALYSIS, PLANNING & ASSESSMENT
The Associate Director of Employer Relations works closely with the Senior Associate Director of Employer Relations to develop and implement employer outreach, employer engagement and employer recruitment services strategies that support the strategic direction of the Career Center at large.
Performs a variety of analytical tasks to inform strategy development such as: workforce trends and market conditions assessment, peer benchmarking, constituent surveying, needs analysis, gap analysis and cos/benefit analysis. Monitors legal issues, communicates them to SAF and establishes related policies and procedures. Leads their team in developing and managing employer programs and services.
Provides administrative oversight for features of a client relations management ( CRM) and other on-line system(s) used to support Employer Relations, configuring or developing processes, procedures and workflows as needed. Ensures that all Employer Relations activities and services are appropriately tracked, reported and evaluated, overseeing Employer Relations data collection for internal and external reporting.

SUPERVISION & TRAINING
The Associate Director for Employer Relations provides ongoing supervision for a diverse team of staff who conduct employer outreach, coordinate employer engagement activities and facilitate the delivery of employer recruitment services such as employer account creation, online job postings, on-campus interviewing and job and graduate school fairs.
They will conduct routine supervision meetings and annual Employer Performance Management System ( EPMS) planning stages and reviews. They will identify appropriate Employer Relations-related and University training and coordinate the delivery of training opportunities to develop staff in their role and ensure they are equipped to effectively represent the University to employers.

PROGRAMS & SERVICES DEVELOPMENT & DELIVERY
The Associate Director for Employer Relations oversees the development and delivery of employer recruitment services such employer account approvals and job posting management in the Career Center's online career management system, on-campus interviewing programs, job and graduate school fairs, and the delivery of an annual employer recruitment conference. Provides additional indirect oversight for the development and implementation of employer outreach initiatives and employer engagement activities.
They will work in close collaboration with campus partners in the delivery of services and will be responsible for reviewing all related contracts and agreements with outside vendors.
They may personally conduct employer outreach, coordinate employer engagement activities and deliver core employer recruitment services as needed. They will represent the University with external constituents through a wide variety of forums. When interacting with employers, the Associate Director for Employer Relations will provide strong business value-based propositions for the employment and experiential education opportunities of USC students and alumni.

FISCAL MANAGEMENT
The Associate Director of Employer Relations works closely with the Senior Associate Director of Employer Relations to develop and propose budgets for all employer services and employer operations. They will additionally review budgets for Employer outreach efforts, employer engagement activities, and the Career Center's Employer Partnership Program. They will monitor related revenues and expenditures to ensure expenditures follow procurement guidelines and that all Employer Relations programs and services are within budget.

OTHER
Oversee designated projects or initiatives related to experiential education, Employer Relations, or the Career Center. Provide assistance and support for initiatives and programs within the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support, specifically the Student Success Unit, and the broader institution. Offer support for various activities, including committee participation, professional development, move-in, Orientation, Admissions events, Family Weekend, and other special projects as requested.
