- Position works from a home office.
- EWU will provide university laptop, internet connection, and other office equipment needed for performance of job duties.
- All remote positions must be responsive to the changing needs of the university and must be reviewed and updated annually.
- Master of Social Work from a CSWE-accredited social work program.
- Two years post-MSW practice experience.
- Expertise in public child welfare.
- Interest and experience in promoting cultural competency and diversity.
- Demonstrated experience using databases, spreadsheets, and cloud data management technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that is supportive to diverse needs, including universal accessibility, of our students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Licensed or license-eligible in Social Work
- Experience as field faculty in child welfare
- Experience in Social Work instruction, specifically child welfare
- Two or more years of experience working with Child Welfare in Idaho

- Serve on the FRTC leadership team with the FRTC Director of Operations.
- Ensure that practice guidelines and administrative processes comply with State and University statutes, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor service areas, recommend approaches for improvement activities, assist in designing new strategies, review, and report performance over time, improve and redesign processes based on the evaluation, and reassess continuously. Participates in planning and implementing best practice approaches to improve outcomes.
- In collaboration with the Operations Director, recruit and hire personnel to meet contracted program needs.
- Ensure that workflow, assessments, safety plans, and documentation are complete with timeline requirements set forth by FRTC Policies and Procedures and contract or grant obligations.
- Review and approve all foster parent and social work training curricula.
- Monitor workforce caseloads and ongoing progress toward goals.
- Ensure coordination across foster parent recruitment, training, and support teams.
- Identify educational and training gaps and needs.
- Regularly communicate barriers, concerns, and progress to the FRTC Operations Director.
- Provide oversight for FRTC practice compliance with DHW contracts.
- Provide oversight and coordination for student internships.
- Support the overall mission, values, and vision of FRTC.
- Support developing and implementing programs, instructional projects, innovative practice, and training to meet professional social work standards and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) contractual obligations.
- Promote the Center and Eastern Washington University’s Mission, Vision, and Values that, include equity, diversity, inclusivity, cultural competency, and universal accessibility.
- Analyze program development information and support recommendations for modifying programs.
- Develop and support programs of evidence-based child welfare social work practice.
- Support program communication and procedures
- Liaison with the EWU and other university Schools of Social Work, including Field Faculty and Placement Coordinator
- Maintain and encourage a professional, collaborative, and solutions-oriented approach to support a healthy culture and productive workforce.
- Meet with contract monitors as needed regarding programs’ social work deliverables.
- Provide support and guidance for Center programs and operations teams.
- Problem-solve challenges between programs and systems.
- Supervise and coach FRTC social workers and student interns who provide training, coaching, and direct service in the following areas:
- Child welfare case management
- Training and coaching social workers and foster parents.
- Foster care placement
- Permanency planning
- Resolve staff practice performance problems.
- Conduct annual performance appraisals for social work staff.
- Conduct student and intern performance appraisals.
- Develop and sustain relationships with community agencies, stakeholders, and regional educational institutions related to child welfare workforce development.
- Identify community-based services and formal and informal community networks to provide concrete support for families in crisis.
- Build networks to support child welfare work.
