Patriot Pharmaceuticals, LLC is a subsidiary of Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and is responsible for the commercialization of generics for various Janssen pharmaceutical products. Patriot provides sales, commercial support, and contract management for those products in the generic portfolio that are sold to trade and government customers.
The company is currently recruiting for the position of Associate DirectorContract and Account Administration within Patriot Pharmaceuticals located in either Horsham, PA, or Titusville, NJ.
Position Summary:
The Associate DirectorContract and Account Administration position will be responsible for supporting the operational, financial, and strategic account activities needed to maintain Patriot Pharmaceuticals, LLC, as a company as well as the generic business. Specifically, this position will manage a variety of analytical exercises intended to support financial forecasting cycles and new opportunities, such as establishing and maintaining relationships with commercial trade and government accounts, supporting the development of business cases for new product recommendations, maintaining product demand forecasts, supporting the Patriot contracting team, and leading various project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Administration (60%)
• Lead strategic contract discussions, pricing offers and payment functions of all agreements.
• Review contracts (as applicable) to ensure accuracy and compliance to guidance documents, pricing strategies, and respective approvals.
• Develop Process Narratives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) that define the approved procedures for developing and executing Agreements with customers.
• Serve as the lead negotiator for novel agreements with external customers and will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team of key stakeholders during the strategic contract development process.
• Process all Rebates, Fees per customer contracts and ensure payments are made accurately and timely according to the contractual obligations, Corporate Internal Audit, Sarbanes Oxley, and Johnson & Johnson HCS standards. Provide support for internal audit and handle any dispute resolutions
Additionally, this position will have significant interaction with Finance Gross To Net and Brand Finance teams and will need to have a working knowledge of class of trade and pricing, as well as government contracting nuances (e.g., best price, FSS and 340B contracting, AMP).
Account Management (20%)
• Interact with external customers such as RedOak Sourcing, Walgreens Boots Alliance, ClarusONE and various GPOs.
• Responsible for developing/maintaining product unit demand forecasts for Janssen Supply Chain and for managing cross-functional projects that support the interests of the Patriot business.
• Maintain a high level of communication with business partners and internal stakeholders to share market and business insights.
• Gaining deep understanding of customer objectives, challenges and market forces and then translating the insights into developing strategic plans to optimize customer engagement and Account outcomes.
Commercial Operations (20%)
• Play an active role in the development and confirmation of the various Patriot business plans throughout the strategic and financial business planning cycles; responsible for interacting with Finance and Senior Leadership to ensure all Financial forecasts represent Patriot's best thinking
• When needed, develop business cases for new product (authorized generic) launch recommendations based on lifecycle management strategies for Brands facing potential loss of exclusivity.
Additionally, this position will lead analyses where needed in the areas of pricing strategies, channel-specific contracting strategies, best price, AMP, and WAC. This role requires maintaining active relationships with Finance, Janssen Supply Chain, Patriot Contract Administration, and the Government Compliance Team and will interact with GCC, HCS, and Government teams to support new products launches.
- Education:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Finance, or Operations Management . Experience effectively managing external customers or a strong background in an analytical area is desired.
- An MBA, CPA, advanced degree, or certification is preferred
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, hands-on professional with initiative
• A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive business experience in finance, accounting, pricing, account management, contract negotiation, or other related area is required
- A minimum of five (5) years of increasing leadership responsibility is required
- Ability to review and synthesize complex data and implement related business processes is required
- Significant ability to influence and lead management, business partners, and peers with limited or no direct authority is critical
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and demonstrated ability to lead complex projects is required
- Strong interpersonal and interdependent partnering skills are required
- Strong analytical and organizational skills are required
- Ability to be creative and work autonomously is required
- Knowledge of government contracting and federal pricing calculations, such as Best Price, AMP, ASP and 340B is highly desirable
- The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and presentation skills (strong presentation skills required for Senior Leadership reviews)
