Overview
The Brand Experience and Digital Investment Associate Media Director is an integral part of the Western Union Retail team. This is a hybrid role developing plans across OOH, Radio, Linear, Digital, Search and Social. This role reports to the VP and supervises a Senior Associate with dotted line into other investment teams including Managers, Senior Associates and Associates across Social and Search. The AMD develops holistic media strategies and coordinates media plans for our client's products and/or services. They will work closely with the media and analytics team to maintain quality control of the media campaigns in market and continually evaluate and improve performance against client goals. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can be a mentor to junior planners, a leader within the agency, and a partner with our clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide media expertise, share media knowledge, and provide continuous feedback.
- Develop holistic media strategies and a tactical approach.
- Train and mentor Senior Associate on best practices of offline/online media planning/buying.
- Ensure team has the digital and offline expertise to design the link between fluid contact choices and platforms to create experiences.
- Educate, push, and drive innovation among teams in key vertical areas.
- Actively advise and consult category teams in the development of online and offline strategies and ideas.
- Project manage up and down, funnel workload, meet project timelines, and develop plans from beginning to end (brief to strategy to negotiation to activation).
- Identify and create training and development opportunities for the broader teams to ensure digital and offline expertise.
- Drive development and implementation of best practices.
- Develop robust case studies leveraging both internal and external examples to highlight work.
- Understand addressability and targeting application in all digital platforms.
- Deploy strong communication to handle multiple lines of communication across clients, agencies, partners, and internal teams.
- Build partnerships and relationships in the offline, search, digital, and social media space with publishers and service / technology providers.
- 5+ years of experience within Media Buying/Investment/Planning.
- Needs to be fluent in digital planning, activation with integrated, traditional campaign experience.
- Strong client facing experience.
- Strong quantitative skills, including analytical abilities and math proficiency.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical proficiency, particularly with the following tools: MRI, Prisma, Mediaocean, MBOX, Nielsen Net Rating, Comscore, AdRelevance, eMarketer, Third-party ad measurement and traffic tools (e.g. Integral Ad Science), Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Solid presentation skills Knowledge of Ad Serving technology Knowledge of media tools (such as comScore Inc.).
