Draper pioneers mission-essential solutions for Space Navigation, Human Spaceflight and Exploration, Sensing and Space Domain Awareness, Space Control, and ISAM to secure American freedom to operate in space and explore the secrets of the universe for the benefit of humanity.
In this role, you will partner with Portfolio Directors, Growth and Capture, Engineering, and Business Functions to mature and execute a transformational growth strategy to accelerate technology maturation for mission critical capabilities. You will engage with customers and partners across the NASA, DoD and IC Research and Development communities to inform strategy, business capture, and program execution. You will lead capture and program execution aligned with the strategy and foster a culture of inclusivity reflective of Draper's core values and Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA).
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement a strategy to accelerate mission impact and growth of the customer-funded space systems technology maturation portfolio across NASA, the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and Commercial space communities.
- Grow the business development pipeline with qualified leads aligned with our business strategy.
- Win new business by converting pipeline opportunities into new programs with win rate >75% and capture rate > 50%
- Deliver on program commitments to customers with strong customer satisfaction across cost, schedule, technical, management, quality, and communications.
- Lead proposal development teams in the development and delivery of project proposals to external customers and ensures adherence to the Draper proposal process.
Draper has a hybrid workforce and 1-2 days per week of work-from-home is available to this position. Travel to Draper's regional offices and customer locations will be required. This role can be based in Reston, VA; Colorado; Cambridge, MA, or Albuquerque, NM.
QualificationsQualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or above in relevant engineering, technical or business field of study.
- Minimum of 15-years of professional experience
- Established relationships with DoD, IC, and civil space customers including DARPA and AFRL
- Experience leading complex programs or program portfolios exceeding $25M to achieve organizational objectives.
- Demonstrated experience leading diverse matrixed and virtual teams with a focus on inclusivity.
- Demonstrated experience leading organizational strategy development inclusive of investment, infrastructure, and talent management.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex captures and campaigns.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead change including organizational transformations and policy changes.
- Excellent written and verbal communications, presentations skills, organizational and time management skills. Candidate must be able to clearly present ideas to executive leadership, peers, staff, customers, and stakeholders.
- Position requires an active TS/SCI and the ability to obtain and maintain SAP/SAR
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD or Masters in Draper's current technology and product base
Security Requirement:
- Current in scope Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
