Job Description:
Associate Transportation Engineer - Oakland, California
Our Parsons Bay Area office in Oakland, California is now hiring for an Associate Civil Engineerto join our Infrastructure North America team! In this role you will get to apply basic training from your College Degree program in Civil Engineering to real world design projects for Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), California High Speed Rail, Caltrans, the Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA), various municipalities, and other transportation clients in California. This position is open to new or recent graduates. We offer hybrid remote working schedule ( meaning allowed to work from home 2 days per week, if desired)
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design light rail, heavy rail, and high speed rail system projects using Microstation, Autocad and other software
- Design roadways, bike/pedestrian paths, utilities, grading and drainage, and other civil infrastructure
- Learn design and engineering techniques under the mentorship of engineers
- Assist with establishing work scope, preparing budget and schedule, planning work, providing technical direction, and reporting work status.
- Prepare a variety of work products that may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
- Provide support for other engineering activities as required.
- Learn more advanced engineering as your training progresses.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) is required.
- 0-2 years of related work experience.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred.
- Any internship or work experience with civil and/or transportation engineering is highly desirable.
- Requires basic engineering knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of CAD and/or other software packages, e.g. Microsoft Excel and Word, typically associated with engineering.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Demonstrated aptitude for CAD design software for engineering.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with teams.
- Willingness to work in an office environment for mentoring.

Salary Range:
$24.18 - $42.31
