Post Consumer Brands corporate headquarters in Lakeville, Minn. is about 20 miles south of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Lakeville has all the benefits of smaller town living with access to everything a large metropolitan area has to offer. Responsibilities

Overview

 

Post Consumer Brands is seeking an Associate Marketing Manager (ABM) for our Private Brands business. The ABM works in close partnership with the Marketing Leadership to define and execute the annual business plan.

 

This role is responsible for supporting the development and execution of marketing plans and programs to achieve short and long-term business objectives, using business analytics, cross-functional team leadership, budget management and execution.  This role is also a key enabler of the commercialization of product innovation. 

 

To be successful in this role, the ABM will build a deep understanding of consumers, customers, channel, and marketplace and can deliver creative and innovative insights that allow us to win in the marketplace.

 

 

JOB ACTIVITIES AND DUITES

 

  1. Business Analysis & Reporting– Provide consumer, category, and competitive insights. Provide in depth analysis of sales trends by product line, SKU, retail customer, channel, and geography to determine opportunities to grow volume. Gather key competitive intelligence, develop insights, and report findings to key stakeholders. Assist in developing targeted data insights.

 

  1. State of the Business: Become fluent in understanding the demand-side of the business, including consumption and key causal influences. This includes developing a monthly consumption-based forecast and collecting key customer assumptions from cross-functional peers. The role will also support development of all related materials for all business planning meetings.

 

  1. Project Management– Demonstrate strong and effective communication skills. Ensure cross-functional team alignment for key projects. Prioritize projects according to business need and ensure appropriate cross-functional support. Represent Private Brands business team in the established Stage Gate process for all new item launches. Assist with new initiatives such as market research, product development, and selling material creation.

 

  1. Business Leadership– Be a steward of the Private Label business while working closely with the Sr. Marketing Mgr. and Customer Strategy Mgrs. on execution of the “4 P’s” of positioning (product, price, place, and promotion).  Know the consumer and the competition inside and out – make decisions based on the unique needs of this consumer and/or category to drive demand.  Identify consumer and business knowledge gaps while working with Consumer Insights (CI) to apply market research techniques effectively. 

 


Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

Education:BA required, (Marketing or Finance preferred)

 

Experience:Minimum 1-2 years in marketing/brand management or a related field. Experience with market analysis and data extraction required.

 

Job related Skills: Critical thinker with strong, proven analytical skills. Demonstrated ability develop data-based insights and to “tell the story” behind the data. Organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills required. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

 

Management Skills:Ability to manage multiple projects with aggressive timelines. Manager should have ability to influence without direct authority and interpret needs of team to provide creative solutions for customers that deliver projects on time. 

 

JOB COMPLEXITY

 

Internal Relationships: Primary contact is with core team cross-functional team members including Customer Strategies (SS&T), Finance, Demand, R&D, Business Operations, Regulatory, Procurement (PHI), and Sales, as well as other cross functional groups.

 

This position requires minimal travel.
