A Personal Injury, Immigration & Criminal Defense Lawyers is a top rated law firm in Orange County. Our firm is looking for an attorney to join growing team. Individuals awaiting CA Bar Results are welcome to apply, and may work in temporary role while awaiting results.Associate Attorney(s) will assist in representing client before local immigration courts andor agencies. They will work under the direction and supervision of a Senior Attorney or the firm owner but are expected to complete their work independently.
Associate Attorney(s) will assist in providing instructions and guidance to paralegals and legal assistants. They will research relevant case law to draft and prepare motions and briefs for filings with courts.
Ideal candidates will have prior immigration law experience.
Responsibilities:
- Attend civil, criminal, and immigration court hearings, and depositions as required.
- Familiarity with Humanitarian Immigration Law is preferred. (I-589, 42B, AOS, Consular Processing, etc.)
- Research relevant case law, precedent, policies, and procedures
- Research, and draft motions and briefs for filing with Court.
- Assist in the drafting of discovery requests, and discovery responses.
- Assist clients in compiling and preparing evidence.
- Communicate regularly with client regarding case status.
- Manage independent case load and ensure all deadlines are met.
Requirements:
- Must be licensed to practice law within the United States or awaiting Bar Exam Results.
- Must be in good standing with licensing Bar Association.
- Juris Doctorate preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work under strict legal deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to manage
- Must be able write and speak in Spanish and English fluently.
