Summary/Purpose
This is an great opportunity for new graduate interested in pursuing a career in accounting with a large manufacturing company. The primary tasks for this role will be maintaining and processing Intercompany transactions in the Oracle Accounts Receivable system, reconciling Intercompany balances and recording various transactions in AR and the General Ledger. The Associate Accountant will also assist in both AR and AP functions. The Associate Accountant will assist with a wide range of duties, including analyzing data, preparing financial reports, and learning about varied accounting activities.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities
• Calculate Intercompany transactions related to Interest, Freight and Commissions
• Process debit memos related to Intercompany
• Assist with data entry in accounts receivable, payable
• Analyze AR transactions for proper accounting treatment
• Collaborate with the General Ledger team on various projects and tasks
• Take on new shared accounting services as needed
• Collections coordination with intercompany parties
• Customer deductions analysis and resolution
Qualifications
• BSA in Accounting
• Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office software
• Strong aptitude for mathematics
• Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles
• Attention to detail
• Ability to multitask
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Work is performed in both remote and onsite office settings on a weekly basis. The role has minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment.
- The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.
- Travel by automobile and plane may be required approximately 5% of the time.
