About Us

The convergence of laboratory automation, high-throughput assays, and machine learning is moving the medium of biological discovery to silicon. At LatchBio, we are building the ubiquitous cloud SaaS platform to store, visualize and analyze data from biological experiments.

We are 20 engineers and salespeople in San Francisco solving the data bottleneck in biology:

  • Data in biotech has increased 10,000x over the past 10 years
  • AI in biopharma will 20x in 7 years. $200m to $4b, 54% CAGR.
  • 200+ biotechs are “reinventing” the same platform for data.
  • We build ubiquitous software, storage, pipelines, & machine learning tools for all of biology.

Our mission is to build and disseminate the data infrastructure platform of the biocomputing revolution
. Today, this is a cloud platform for biotechs to store, process, and visualize data.

Traction:

Spun out of UC Berkeley in 2021, we spent 9 months on customer discovery, 12 months building the product, and the past 6 months readying our go-to-market. We have achieved:

  • 40+ new biotech companies onboarded in the past 12 months
  • $28m Series A from Lux Capital, Coatue, and General Catalyst

You are a hungry and ambitious leader, looking to define your early career through technology sales.

What You Will Do:

The Associate Account Executive position is a specialized and impactful role — your mission is to create predictable lead generation, a cornerstone to an effective sales machine. You will be an expert in predictable lead generation: finding market opportunities, executing outreach campaigns, and systematically booking meetings. Your day to day will consist of activities, metrics, and automation around this:

  • Refine our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) alongside the product and sales team.
  • Orchestrate mass-outreach campaigns personalized to ICPs.
  • Write and refine messaging campaigns consistently based on hard data on what is working.
  • Navigate and work responses from leads to warm them up for qualification meetings.
  • Book demos and conduct hot-handoffs to our Account Executives to close opportunities.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Experience as a BDR or SDR at an early-stage cloud or software company
  • Evidence of exceptional performance at your prior jobs
  • Ability to understand & communicate technical concepts plainly
  • Desire to excel at sales

What Will Help You Succeed:

  • You are organized, systematic, and quantitative about your work.
  • You previously worked in an early stage company and know how to be successful. You have sales experience within big data, cloud, or SaaS sales.
  • You do not wait for things to happen; you make them happen.
  • You like friendly competition and want to be the best in your respective role.
  • You are excited by biotech and cloud technologies.

Key Competencies:

  • Persistence and resilience: The ability to make numerous cold calls and send thousands of emails requires persistence. Rejection is a natural part of sales, so resilience is crucial to bounce back from negative responses.

  • Effective communication skills: The ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively, as well as being able to listen effectively to understand clients needs and help solve their problems.

  • Product knowledge: An extremely strong knowledge of our product and services being sold is crucial. Understanding the features, benefits, and how it meets the needs of a wide variety of scientific aims biotech clients may have.

  • Time management: Ability to balance a high volume of calls, emails, and meetings with excellent organization and time management skills. You need to know how to prioritize tasks and work efficiently.

  • Prospecting skills: Identifying and reaching out to potential customers is a fundamental part of sales. This includes understanding how to segment and target the market, as well as how to qualify leads.

  • Self-motivation: Sales can be a demanding role, with targets to meet and pressure to perform. Being self-motivated, goal-oriented and driven is crucial.

As you might imagine, we work very intensely to ensure success and we ask the same from everyone that we work with.

Logistics:

  • The role works very closely and reports directly to the founders.
  • We work 6 days a week. Monday through Saturday.
  • We work strictly in-person in Mission Bay, SF.
