POSITION DESCRIPTION

Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (Clinical X Series) - Pediatric Urologist

The Department of Urologic Surgery at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, is recruiting for multiple full-time faculty member in the Professor of Clinical X series at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank in Pediatric Urology. Faculty in the Clinical X series are expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service.

EXPECTATIONS
The successful candidate will have strong clinical and surgical skills in the area of pediatric urology and preferable a skilled robotic surgeon. Duties involve multi-disciplinary clinics that have been established to address some of the most complicated medical conditions such as Disorders of Sexual Development (DSD), Spina Bifida, congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia, Bladder Exstrophy and Pediatric Onco-fertility Preservation.

In addition to pediatric urology care, incumbent will be engaged in clinical research, teaching, and service activities. The candidate will have teaching responsibilities that include teaching and supervision of various learners such as medical students, residents, fellows, and PA/NP students. Participation in appropriate professional societies and educational organizations is expected as well as providing service to department and school committees to fulfil University and public service and scholarly and creative activity achievements.

The incumbent must foster collegiality and work collaboratively in a diverse environment that fosters team science and multi-disciplinary patient care, adhere to University policies and procedures and be sensitive to the needs of patients from diverse backgrounds.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must possess or be eligible for the following:
  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
  • Board certification/eligibility in Urology and Pediatric Urology
  • Eligible for full and unrestricted medical licensure in the State of California
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills in pediatric urology
  • Evidence of teaching experience in a diverse environment
  • Demonstrated evidence of professional and/or scholarly achievement and activity
  • Demonstrated ability or potential to establish and sustain extramurally funded research
  • Evidence of publications of scholarly work in medical literature
  • The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they are legally authorized to work in the United States. The University will not offer sponsorship of a visa for this position.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
  • Completion of ACGME accredited pediatric urology fellowship
Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)
  • Robotic skills
