The Assistant Coach of Women's Soccer will assist in overseeing all aspects of operating a successful college level intercollegiate athletic program. Essential responsibilities will include:

  • Assist recruiting student-athletes who are mission fit, academically solid, and athletically skilled.
  • Adhere to, support, and follow the academic standards and requirements of the university regarding the recruiting and eligibility of prospective and current student-athletes.
  • Provide appropriate advice and assistance to help ensure the success of each student-athletes spiritual development and completed stated program of study.
  • Report any known or suspected violations of the NCCAA and/or university rules by head coach, assistant coach(es), student-athletes, staff, etc. promptly to the Director of Athletics.
  • Assist in the organization and supervision of all practices, games, and other workout sessions for the team.
  • Assist head coach in the instruction and coaching of student-athletes.
  • Evidence a thorough understanding of the rules and regulations governing intercollegiate competition and adhere to the rules and standards established by NCCAA. 
  • Assist the head coach in promoting community service projects for the team to complete per the mission of the NCCAA, Regent Athletic Department and Regent University.
  • Abide by and comply with the constitution, bylaws, and interpretations of the NCCAA and university rules and regulations.  
  • Assist Head Coach in all areas including, but not limited to compliance by such coaches with NCCAA and University rules and regulations.
  • Assist Head Coach in supervision of team managers, student workers, and volunteers.
  • Follow and maintain a frequent and transparent system of communication with all stakeholders. 
  • Attend Athletic Department staff meetings, functions and other duties as directed.
  • Produce reports and paperwork as directed for local, regional and national awards.
  • Assist in managing distribution, collection, inventory and storage, and of team uniforms and equipment. 
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of travel arrangements, statistics, game schedule, meals, referees/officials, equipment, and facilities for all team contests.

  • Coach as provider of academic support and accountability to student-athletes. - Proverbs 4:13 (NLT)
  • Coach as personal demonstration of exemplary Christian character in words and actions, both on and off the field of competition and requiring same of student-athletes. Reports all incidents to the contrary to Director of Athletics. - Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)
  • Coach as extension of University and Athletic Department in following University rules and behavioral standards personally and requiring same of student-athletes. Reports all incidents to the contrary to the Director of Athletics. - Romans 13:14 (NLT)

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • One or more years of successful high school, college, or private coaching experience is preferred 
  • Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule required

Candidate must have:

  • A strong relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Commitment to integrating Scripture in coaching and interactions with student-athletes
  • Humility, integrity, maturity, self-confidence, creativity and patience
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively one-on-one, in small groups, and in public speaking contexts
  • Proven ability to communicate ideas and priorities effectively to promote teamwork and achieve desired results
  • Demonstrated strategic planning skills and an ability to assess the team's competitive strengths and vulnerabilities
  • Demonstrated skill in making strategic recommendations to enhance the team's performance
