We are seeking an Assistant Vice President (AVP) within the Investment team for our Purchase, NY office. The AVP of Investment position will assist in Asset Allocation, Portfolio Construction, Risk Management and Reporting. Objectives include enhancing and developing analytics for the group and to engage actively in the investment strategy process. The AVP will actively engage with other members of the Investment team, including the CIO, and the VP for External Investment Managers. In addition, the position will actively work across the organization including Group Risk, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, the Actuarial group and Legal. The Role will report to the SVP, Risk and Asset Allocation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the CIO, SVP of Asset Allocation and Risk, and the SVP of External Managers in contributing to the development and evolution of Strategic Asset Allocation operating within the Company’s risk budget, and regulatory and capital requirements.
- Engage in dialogue on major aspects of the investment process including asset allocation, asset benchmark selection, manager selection & surveillance, risk management
- Participate in meetings with external investment managers.
- Assist with production and optimization of risk scenarios, stress tests, and scenario assumptions.
- Support with the production of quarterly risk reporting materials and analysis.
- Assist with the submission of investment related activity pertaining to Rating Agency and Regulatory surveys.
- Assist with oversight of Asset/Liability Management (ALM) strategy and execution, including cash flow and duration matching, FX policy and liquidity management.
- Ad hoc research projects related to economy, markets and securities, and other tasks as needed.
- Keep team updated on progress of work, and communicate issues/delays on a timely basis to avoid missed deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5-10 years of relevant experience
- Strong quantitative skills, education in Mathematics, Economics or Finance
- Experience modelling fixed income assets, equity and alternative assets
- Strong leadership potential, analytical and organization skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and operate within multiple deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and inquisitive mind
- Strong attention to detail
- Technical skills i.e. Macro, VBA and Python as well as exposure to BlackRock Aladdin, Clearwater or Bloomberg a plus
- Prefer CFA designation
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude
Salary Range: $120,000 - $180,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
