Injoy Thrift Store Assistant Manager
Coordinates and Guides: production, donations, home pickups, deliveries, volunteers, staffing, reporting, finance, sales, marketing, and customer relations in partnership with the Thrift Store Manager.
INJOY THRIFT STORES with a mission is a project initiated by Christian businessmen and women with a goal of supporting local and international Christian ministries. One hundred percent of the income from the sale of products at InJoy Thrift Stores, after normal expenses are paid, goes to support and fund Christian ministries in your community and throughout the world.
General Purpose of Position:
- To maintain a pleasant and efficient volunteer, production and sales ministry where volunteers and staff are excited about their work and the impact their contribution is making on faith-based charities.
- To operate a clean, neat, community based, retail Thrift Store where customers are respected, well served and happy to shop.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, hire, evaluate, discipline, and fire staff at the store.
- Through regular staff meetings, discussions and consultation with InJoy Management build an effective and efficient team consisting of:
- Sales Lead
- Production Lead
- Donation Lead
- Volunteer Lead
- Develop training tools and interactive communication systems for all the key leaders.
- Develop and implement volunteer training and appreciation programs.
- Coordinate with the Production Leader to consistently work towards achieving the production goals provided by InJoy Management.
- Coordinate the home pick-up and delivery program.
- Supervise Donations lead and Truck driver.
- Monitor a merchandise rotation system using color changes for production and pulling of merchandise.
- Coordinate bulk sales and salvage operations.
- Create employee schedules and assign responsibilities.
- Maintain financial records using QuickBooks software.
- Maintain the company Production versus Sales records.
- Enter and monitor payroll.
- Monitor financial status and keep Board and InJoy Management LLC members fully informed.
- Track sales and recommend floor and price adjustments.
- Work with Sales lead to consistently monitor quantity of merchandise on the sales floor.
- Work with Sales Lead to manage store displays and monitor neatness or orderliness of racks and shelves.
- Develop systems and guidelines that ensure safety, security and loss prevention.
- Coordinate various integrated communication and marketing activities in support of donations and sales.
- Develop and implement marketing plan to receive donations from 3 to 5 dry cleaning/consignment shops.
- Develop a community-advertising program social media, Facebook, local papers, direct mail and other media, and advertising outlets.
- Develop as many “viral” promotion and storytelling methodologies as possible.
- Maintain and update an InJoy publicity program of pictures, impact stories, DVDs, etc. in store and production areas.
