Assistant Manager
The Assistant Manager assists the Store Manager in overseeing daily activities and operation of the store, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing staff, and delivering exceptional customer service. When the Store Manager is not present at the location, the Assistant Manager will represent the company as the main point of contact for all matters usually reserved for the Store Manager.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for opening and closing the store and handling the daily operations of the store.
· Assist the Store Manager in supervising and guiding the budtender team to ensure smooth operations during their shifts.
· Provide support, coaching, and guidance to Budtenders, promoting a positive and productive work environment. Assist in identifying training needs and opportunities for continuous improvement within the team.
· Assist in training new budtenders, ensuring they are educated about product knowledge, customer service standards, and compliance protocols.
· Collaborate with the Store Manager to ensure that all aspects of the dispensary's operations adhere to local and state regulations.
· Monitor ID verification processes to confirm customer age and compliance with legal requirements.
· Engage with customers to address inquiries, assist with product selection, and provide information about different cannabis strains, products, and consumption methods.
· Handle customer concerns and ensure that customer service standards are met.
· Oversee the accurate processing of customer transactions using the point-of-sale system, ensuring secure handling of cash and digital payments.
· Address any issues related to transactions and refunds.
· Help coordinate staff schedules, breaks, and shift handovers to maintain optimal staffing levels throughout the day.
· Assist in providing relief or covering employee shifts when necessary.
· Communicate effectively with other managers, shift leads and staff for smooth transitions between shifts.
· Assist in filling store orders, managing inventory levels, accepting deliveries, restocking products, and maintaining accurate records.
· Ensure that products are displayed appropriately and according to company guidelines.
· Collaborate with the Store Manager to address customer complaints, operational challenges, and staff-related issues in a timely manner.
· Propose solutions to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
· Follow and enforce security protocols to maintain the safety of staff, customers, and the dispensary's assets.
· Ensure compliance with security measures and procedures.
· Assist in generating reports on sales, inventory levels, customer interactions, and other relevant metrics as required by management.
Qualifications:
· 2 years previous experience in the cannabis industry in a supervisory or leadership role within a retail setting. (Preferred)
· Strong knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods.
· Excellent interpersonal, customer service and written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
· Familiarity with local and state regulations related to cannabis sales and compliance.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems, Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
· Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and securely.
· Ability to train and develop individuals within a team for success and to determine those ready for potential promotions.
· Must be a team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Requirements:
· Must be over 21 years of age.
· Ability to work nights, weekends and some holidays.
· Full-time availability.
· Must be available onsite at a minimum of 40 hours a week.
· Ability to stand for long periods of time, reach for items, bend and squat, move about the store and carry up to 40lbs.
· Must pass any and all required background checks.
