Under limited supervision, the Assistant Research Analyst is responsible for supporting administrative and research functions assisting higher level Research Analysts in the conduct of more complex studies or investigations within the Health Economics and Evaluation Research (HEER) Program at the Center. The HEER Program examines the impacts of governmental and safety-net healthcare policies and programs. From local public health interventions, to statewide efforts to improve Medi-Cal, to national debates on health care financing, HEER staff provide analysis, conduct evaluations, and offer expertise to policymakers and others concerned with healthcare costs, quality, and utilization as well as changes to public systems of care.
The incumbent will assist with Project Management:
- Provide administrative support to the HEER Team, create timelines, documentation of activities, and participate in relevant meetings.
- Assist with establishing and maintaining contacts with officials in the University, government, and industry for the collection and exchange of information and providing consultative services to departments;
- Assist with the design of survey instruments/questionnaires, sampling/distribution, assist in the collection and preliminary interpretation of field data, and document data collection procedures;
- Determine and locate sources for the collection of information and data; analyze and interpret findings; prepare a variety of bibliographies related to research work; make preliminary analyses of policies, procedures, and other subjects;
- Writing analytical reports and descriptive summaries; outline, draft, and edit reports, policy briefs, and other dissemination products; summarize information and findings; prepare data for presentation in graphic, pictorial, tabular, printed or written form.

Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Health Sciences or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
