In the Office of the Registrar, Academic Records, Graduation Review & Diploma Services, the primary responsibility of the Assistant Registrar I [Graduation Review] position is to oversee the day-to-day supervision of degree program specialists within the graduation department and the day-to-day operations of the department. The person in the position must exercise sound judgment and work independently as situations arise that must be addressed concerning student issues with meeting graduation requirements. The person will be called upon to make decisions in the absence of the Associate Registrar concerning graduation review. The person ensures compliance and ultimately the conferral of degrees. Provides interpretation of policy and procedures for auditors in the office, College representatives, and students.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
· Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of degree program specialists within the graduation department and the day-to-day operations of the department. Continually ensure that the BOR policies are adhered to by all degree program specialists as well as personnel in the Academic Departments. Maintain the cyclical review calendar, spanning several semesters, and ensure all work is completed in a timely manner. Assist auditors with the investigation of both system issues and student issues and concerns as they arise and respond accordingly. Ensure all internal procedures are adhered to and documentation is maintained on the internal and system and procedural enhancements. Work closely with the Associate Registrar of Academic Records on cross-functional issues and provide training as needed.
· Review academic documents, monitor registration status, and academic progress of graduation applicants in close consultation with Academic Advisors within select departments. Perform final audit on academic records for select colleges and degree programs. Evaluate student academic records and cumulative grade point averages, final graduation GPA and determine student eligibility for University Honors.
· The person in the position must exercise sound judgment and work independently as situations arise that must be addressed concerning student issues with meeting graduation requirements. The person in this position will handle all issues and concerns students have that cannot be answered by a degree program specialist. The coordinator will oversee the intake of graduation appeals and the final communication on decision by the Associate Registrar and the Graduation Appeals Committee.
· Responsible for the execution of all internal reporting to monitor applications within the department and with degree progress for candidates within each academic program, which includes distribution to a variety of those we work closely with in monitoring progress. Coordinate the scheduling of system processes to ensure timely and accurate degree conferral.
· Execute testing plans and create new plans for all systems upgrades and enhancements. Coordinate group testing and monitor testing results working closely with IS&T representatives and the Associate Registrar to resolve issues.
· Coordinates human resources activities, including creating/modifying position descriptions, performance appraisals, hiring, training new employees, discipline, resolving conflict, and termination of employees. Has knowledge of campus human resources policies, procedures, and employment development opportunities. Maintains materials for use in policy and procedure manuals and training documents.
Qualifications
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and four years related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
