Assistant Project Manager
Company Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team and contribute to our mission.
Job Description:
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the successful execution of affordable housing projects, ensuring they are completed within budget, schedule, and quality standards. In addition to your core responsibilities, you will also be involved in workforce development and tracking to enhance our commitment to the community.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Execution Support:
- Assist in developing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, for affordable housing projects.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and project team to facilitate effective project execution and adherence to project objectives.
- Help monitor project progress and identify potential risks, contributing to the implementation of mitigation strategies.
- Participate in ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, permits, and building codes throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Stakeholder Coordination:
- Support the Project Manager in maintaining effective communication with clients, government agencies, subcontractors, and architects involved in affordable housing projects.
- Assist in building and nurturing strong relationships with stakeholders and ensuring timely resolution of project-related issues or conflicts.
- Participate in regular project update meetings and assist in gathering feedback from stakeholders.
3. Budgeting and Cost Control Assistance:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and manage project budgets, helping to monitor costs and expenses.
- Work with the estimating team to ensure accurate cost estimations and identify value engineering opportunities.
- Contribute to the implementation of cost control measures to optimize project profitability while maintaining quality standards.
- Assist in reviewing subcontractor invoices, change orders, and payment applications.
4. Quality Assurance and Safety Support:
- Assist in establishing and maintaining quality control measures to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Participate in regular site inspections, helping to monitor work progress, identify potential issues, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the safety team to support the development and enforcement of site-specific safety plans.
- Contribute to the implementation of corrective actions to address quality and safety concerns.
5. Workforce Development and Tracking:
- Collaborate with HR and the Project Manager to identify workforce development opportunities within the community.
- Assist in tracking and documenting the progress and development of workers involved in affordable housing projects.
- Support initiatives to promote skill-building and career advancement among project workers.
- Help maintain records of workforce development activities and outcomes.
6. Team Support and Development:
- Work closely with the Project Manager to support and assist the project team, including subcontractors, site supervisors, and administrative staff.
- Provide support and assistance to team members throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.
- Assist in performance evaluations and identifying opportunities for professional growth and development among team members.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in a construction project management role is a plus.
- Familiarity with affordable housing regulations and compliance requirements is advantageous.
- Knowledge of construction project management principles, techniques, and best practices.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools is desirable.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to assist in managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Supportive of leadership and team management efforts.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to assisting in delivering quality results.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
