Capital Program Management (CPM) seeks Assistant Project Managers to work with our Long Beach USD client’s Measures E & Q programs. In this role, you will assist Construction Project Managers with activities related to project coordination and management during the construction and close-out phase.
Responsibilities include:
· Perform a variety of increasingly complex and technical duties related to the District’s facilities planning and construction program; provide project coordination and management support to department activities and projects.
· Performs day-to-day contract administration including assisting the Project Managers in bid analysis, pre-construction meetings and related award coordinating activities.
· Review contactors’ initial construction schedule, review and monitor construction schedule, submittals, schedule of values, and responds to contractor inquiries.
· Administers provisions of Professional Services Agreements between architects and the District.
· Coordinates District delivery of related fixtures, furniture and equipment.
· Assist in construction closeout in coordination for moving services.
· Operate a computer and assigned software to input data and develop reports; drive a personal vehicle to conduct work and visit sites.
· Attend and represent the District in a variety of meetings and conferences as assigned
Qualifications for the position include:
· The ideal candidate must have some experience supporting K-12 school modernization and new construction programs with a planning, architectural, engineering or construction project management background.
· Extensive client interaction requires exceptional people and communication (verbal and written) skills.
· The successful candidate must be extremely organized, efficient, and thrive in an environment with multiple deadlines.
· Ability to read plans and specifications.
· Professional license and/or certification(s) or in process of obtaining is preferred.
