ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY
POSITION: Assistant Professor (non-tenure) of Preaching and Worship and Seminary Chaplain
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Homiletics and/or Worship preferred. DMin considered. Experience in preaching, worship, and pastoral care in educational or congregational settings required.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Approximately half-time teaching in preaching, worship, and other subsets of practical theology based on expertise. Approximately half-time chaplaincy including student support and Seminary worship coordination. Teaching in graduate and non-credit programs.
POSITION DETAILS: 9-month position with teaching largely in the fall and spring semesters. Salary determined by education and experience. Teaching will include graduate Christian preaching and worship courses, other practical theology courses in the seminary curriculum, and non-credit training and workshop opportunities. Candidates must have a strong commitment to high-quality teaching in on-campus and online formats and be enthusiastic about mentoring and advising students. Scholarship and/or teaching in frameworks such as liberation theology, postcolonial studies, peace and justice studies, queer studies, and/or gender studies preferred. As Chaplain the position coordinates student success and support services and weekly seminary chapel services. Skills in intercultural competency, ministry ethics, and cultivating community in on-campus and online formats required. Familiarity with Anabaptist/Mennonite traditions preferred.
