Description Assistant/Associate Professor of Psychological Science Tenure-TrackThe University of Lynchburg, a private, regional university in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Psychological Science at the Assistant/Associate Professor level for the 2024-2025 academic year for the School of Sciences.The department of Psychological Science is a student-centered, collaborative team with an excellent record of preparing students with a variety of backgrounds for graduate school and employment in education and industry. We seek an individual with exceptional potential as a teacher and scholar who can contribute to our undergraduate programs and complement existing departmental strengths.Specific Job Duties: Duties include teaching courses in Psychological Science, collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development, supervising student research projects, service to the University and community, and engaging in scholarly activity. Ability to teach some combination of the following courses: Abnormal Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Introduction to Psychology, Lifespan Developmental Psychology, Statistics for Psychologists, Research Methodology, Senior Capstone, and Psychology of Diversity.Benefits:

Teaching Load:

The normal teaching load is 12 hours per semester consisting of general education and major/minor courses in Psychological Science.

Physical Demands:

Prolonged periods standing or sitting at a desk.

Qualifications Required Qualifications/Education:

Earned doctoral degree in psychology by August 1, 2024. Candidates must demonstrate strong abilities in teaching, scholarship and service. Candidates must demonstrate a record of teaching Psychology students at all levels. A primary interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduates at a liberal arts institution is required.
