The Graduate School of Education (GSOE) at Baker University’s Overland Park Campus invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor position. This position serves as the leader of the GSOE master’s programs including Master of Science in School Leadership (MSSL), Master of Arts in Education (MAEd). Master of Science in Special Education programs as well as non-degree programs Building Level Licensure Only (BLLO) and Limited Apprentice License (LAL). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Teach 12 credits (4, 3 credit hour courses) over the course of the fiscal year. Release time will be determined by the dean to complete other job duties listed below. This position is encouraged to maintain his or her own professional development both within discipline area and in higher education.
· Assists in the coordination of Directed Field Experience (DFE) and Practicum experiences as needed, which includes placing students and assigning supervisors. Trains DFE mentors and supervisors, as needed, assist in securing placement, if applicable, facilitate DFE meetings, and evaluate completed portfolios.
· Serves as a faculty member for GSOE, assists in curriculum review and development including program and course reviews, program and course creation, working with the Faculty Service team in implementing innovative pedagogical approaches.
Job Requirements:
The successful applicant must have a Master’s Degree in Education (Doctoral Degree preferred); Experience as a K-12 educator with a strong record of teaching and/or administrative experience; and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and administration.
