Posting Details Department: Electrical Engineering/ 0-2106-000 College/Division: College of Engineering/Academic Affairs Salary Plan: Faculty Hiring Salary/Salary Range: Negotiable Organizational Summary: The Department of Electrical Engineering at USF has 27 tenure-track/tenured track faculty members and 2 instructors hailing from some of the finest institutions in the country. Among these faculty we have NSF CAREER Award winners, Fellows of the IEEE, AAAS, AIMBE, and Distinguished University Professors. Many serve in national leadership roles in technical societies, such as the IEEE, and have industry experience to complement their academic backgrounds.

Some have also founded spin-off companies based on their research. This diversity in our faculty enriches the learning experiences of our students. The Department of Electrical Engineering offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D.

degrees and serves approximately 700 undergraduate students, 150 M.S., students and 100 Ph.D. students. USF is classified by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as a Doctoral University with Highest Research Activity, a distinction attained by only 2.5% of all post-secondary institutions.

Position Summary: The Department of Electrical Engineering in the College of Engineering invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Junior (Assistant Professor) level. The positions are expected to commence August 2022. Qualified candidates should have demonstrated excellence in scholarly research and publications, the strong potential for sustaining an externally funded research program, and a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.

Successful applicants are expected to conduct research and teach in areas across the Electrical Engineering discipline with a preference on the following topics: 1) radio frequency integrated circuits (RFICs) and systems, analog and mixed-signal RFIC designs and/or RF interfaces in advanced silicon and related emerging technologies, specifically in the areas of CMOS and SiGe RFIC design with targeted applications in millimeter-wave and/or terahertz (THz) wireless communications; 2) next-generation wireless communication and/or radar systems, with a particular focus on the innovative hardware/software implementation and emerging technology in machine learning and artificial intelligence, quantum photonics for communications, sensing, and computing. Successful candidates must be committed to the academic success of students, value and encourage diversity, and support collaborations with areas of excellence, such as the Center for Wireless and Microwave Information Systems (WAMI) recognized internationally for its mission to offer integrated research and education programs in wireless and microwave technology, cross the college and university, and beyond. QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience): Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates should have completed or be near completion of a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
