Position Summary:
The School of Nursing invites applications for the Faculty position for the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. Participation in executive teams, teaching, student advising, and professional service. The position is full-time (12 Months), non-tenure at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position will begin July 1, 2024
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Actively participates in development and evaluation of curriculum, course content, clinical experiences, and test construction
- Responsible for didactic courses and/or clinical group size appropriate to area of clinical practice
- Plans and supervises clinical seminars
- Establishes effective coordinating relationships with co-workers and clinical agencies
- Continues education for professional growth
- Conducts continuing education
- Participates in academic advising and guidance of students
- Maintains office hours
- Participates in the faculty organization and appropriate program, college and university activities
- Serves on assigned and elected program, college and university committees
- Sponsors and promotes planned activities of students, program, college and university as requested
- Contributes to the community through involvement in and/or consultation to health-related organizations, board memberships, or professional presentations to the public
- Participates in planning for the continued growth and progress of the program through faculty and student recruitment and retention efforts
- Holds membership and participates in organizations that advance the profession of nursing and advanced practice nursing
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Maintains skills and ability to function as faculty for clinical and didactic courses
Knowledge of curriculum design, strategies to promote student learning, assessment and evaluation of learning, evidence-based education principles, advanced practice nursing skills, and a commitment to life-long learning
Possesses interpersonal and communication skills necessary to teach as part of a faculty team
General Days/Hours:
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Monday - Friday
Additional hours as requested and/or needed

This position has been identified as a telecommuting position. The duties are performed during standard work hours of 8am-5pm at a predefined and approved work location. Individuals filling this role must have dedicated work space that provides privacy and security related to the work being performed. Additionally, individuals must have secure internet access with appropriate upload/download capabilities to perform the duties associated with the position. Individuals in this position will be required to review and acknowledge the Telecommuting Guidelines and Telecommuting Agreement for A-State
Minimum Qualifications:
DNP or PhD in Nursing
Academic experience
Unencumbered RN license (or eligible) as RN in Arkansas
Nurse Practitioner certification (2 years experience)
