Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Educational Leadership
General Administrative License K-12
Minimum of five years successful teaching experience
Ability to work effectively as a member of an administrative team
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Integrity, flexibility, and ability to maintain confidentiality
Possesses a professional learning community mindset
Nature and Scope of Job
The associate principal will serve as an instructional leader working in concert with the principal, faculty and staff to ensure high levels of learning are taking place. Additionally, the associate principal partners with the principal in addressing student conduct and discipline in alignment with Senate Bill 100 (SB100).

Key Responsibilities
Student Conduct
In collaboration with the principal, works collaboratively with staff and teachers to provide positive and effective behavior management strategies.
Responsible for student discipline and instilling restorative justice practices school-wide.
Provides and supports restorative justice techniques and resources for faculty and staff.
Oversees student attendance in collaboration with the attendance secretary.
Tardies
Truancy and other long-term absences
Attendance of students placed in out-of-school programs
In-School Suspension
Works collaboratively with the principal and In-School Suspension (ISS) teacher to ensure smooth transitions (academically, behaviorally, emotionally, etc.) for students in the ISS room.
Ensures that students reflect on their choices with various restorative justice practices school-wide including packets, worksheets, discussions, and organized group sessions such as Peace Circles and peer mediation.
504 Program
Serves as the LEA Representative for 504 Plans at Steger Intermediate Center.
Student Assessments
Assists the principal and staff to promote the creation and implementation of common formative assessments, related data, and responses.
Assists district administration and staff with the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) testing preparation.
Leads district administration and staff with the English Learner (EL) program ACCESS testing.
Academic Services
Assists the principal in the review, monitoring, and adjustments of school-wide practices, including but not limited to, grading, report cards and other stakeholder reports, homework, and retention.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
Responsible for overseeing the PBIS program and character education programs in partnership with faculty and staff at Steger Intermediate Center.
Tier II (RTI) Team - Check In Check Out (CICO)
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Universal Team
School Improvement Team
Collaborates with the principal to facilitate the work of the school improvement team.
General Student Services
Collaborates with the principal to provide other general student services as needed.
