K-3 students are taught using the Orton-Gillingham approach, which is a direct, explicit, systematic, and sequential instruction, incorporating multi-sensory learning. We provide several levels of support for students and teachers by having instructional paraprofessionals and in-house Special Education, Gifted and Talented, and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education coordinators. Additionally, we have special service providers for Speech and Language, Occupational and Physical Therapy, and a comprehensive mental health team.

Salary Range:
$79,000/yr to $95,000 annually - commensurate with education and experience
Required Qualifications:
A valid Colorado Department of Education Administrator/Principal License.
Three years of successful teaching experience
Experience with curriculum development, standards, and assessment
An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
The ability to handle many complex tasks simultaneously.
The ability and interest to be part of a high-functioning team. (Having respected and trusted colleagues, preferably as teammates, makes the demands of teaching sustainable.)
The ability and interest to learn continuously and to adapt to changing circumstances (student characteristics, curriculum, and so on).
A belief in empowering all children as owners of their learning.

More about the Position:
Purpose: To plan, direct, administer, and evaluate, under the direction of the Executive Director, those functions necessary for the operation of Belle Creek Charter School including receiving, distributing, and communicating information to satisfy school, district, and state education policies; maintaining the safety of school environment; coordinating assigned school activities; assisting students to modify inappropriate behavior and develop successful interpersonal skills; and communicating information to staff, principal and the public.
Essential Requirements:
Experience in various aspects of school leadership and other qualifications the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Ability to assist in establishing and maintaining an effective learning climate in the school
Ability to assume administrative responsibility for all school functions in the absence of the Executive Director
Ability to interpret and implement all Board policies, administrative regulations, and agreements
Ability to assist in the supervision of all school personnel for the purpose of monitoring performance, providing for professional growth, and achieving overall objectives of the school’s instructional program
Ability to assist in facilitating the development, revisions, and evaluation of the curriculum and instructional services
Ability to assist in the planning and administering of all school resources to meet the educational needs of students
Ability to assist in developing school plans and organizational procedures for the health, safety, discipline, and conduct of students as established district Procedures
Ability to provide direction to others and to make independent judgments
Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, parents, teachers, and the community
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to communicate with individuals of varied cultural and educational backgrounds
Ability to keep and maintain accurate records and meet deadlines
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the supervision of the licensed and classified staff and make recommendations regarding employment, a continuation of employment, and termination of staff
Assist in the development of a master schedule of course offerings and teaching assignments to meet the educational needs and interests of the students
Facilitates communication between personnel, students, and/or parents for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems, and/or resolving conflicts.
Direct implementation of curriculum for assigned content areas for the purpose of assuring adherence to board policies, State and Federal regulations.
Assists in the development and delivery of curriculum and staff development presentations, materials, forms, and processes for the purpose of communication with instructional staff and meeting Federal and State requirements and board policies.
Assists with leading school instructional improvement efforts by developing improvement strategies, observing and evaluating classroom instruction, using data to evaluate the school’s instructional effectiveness, and assisting staff in developing classroom and annual goals for the purpose of continuous instructional improvement.
Facilitates meetings including curriculum, safety, and staff development for the purpose of coordinating agendas and ensuring that outcomes achieve school, district, and or state objectives.
Assists other personnel as needed for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with a student, staff, and or parent information
Assist in the development and evaluation of the educational/instructional program to ensure conformance to state standards
Represent the school within the community for the purpose of maintaining ongoing community support for educational goals, and/or assisting with issues related to the school environment
Represent the school as the School Accountability Coordinator for state testing
Coordinate school volunteer procedures and applications
Maintains a high level of professional knowledge about effective instructional strategies and scheduling options, for the purpose of providing excellent education.
Participate in administrative meetings and other meetings as required or appropriate.
Assist in monitoring and supervision of school facilities
Supervises students in school and community settings, for the purpose of assuring their safety and decorum.
