Our client is opening an innovative boutique Preschool Center set to open in August 2023 in Plano, TX, which will serve children 3 to 5 years of age. Our mission is to provide a safe, warm, loving atmosphere that fosters growth and learning for the children, our families, and our team. It encompasses a high achievement level, as well as the maximum development of our student’s intellectual capacities and skills.

We are looking for an Assistant Preschool Director who is an amazing leader, energetic, well-organized and has a passion for Early Childhood Education. The Assistant Preschool Director will help maintain/manage the program, staff scheduling, and curriculum observations, as well as ensure that the school exceeds all of the Texas minimum standards & upholds the Clients way of doing things. This position reports directly to the Head of the School. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) between the hours of 7 am and 6 pm and must have Flexible schedule availability.

Assistant Preschool Director Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the overall day-to-day operations of the center.
  • Conduct monthly classroom observations & Playground walks.
  • Conduct classroom ratio checks throughout the day.
  • Support policies, procedures, and systems to always ensure a safe and healthy environment in compliance with the Clients and State standards.
  • Participates responsibly in marketing and special events including open houses, school events, etc.
  • Supports change required for continual compliance, improvement, and success of the school.
  • Recruits, hires, orients, trains, supervises, observes, and evaluates staff along with the School Director.
  • Manages, supports, and follows budget in compliance with Franchisee guidelines.
  • Represents the Client to the public, community, parents, visitors, and staff with professionalism and integrity.
  • Attends/participates in meetings and training as directed.
  • Day-to-day operations in compliance with the quality standards of the client's School.
  • Assumes major responsibility for staff scheduling, labor budget, and staff file compliance.
  • Able to accept and handle change.
  • Accepts instruction and direction in an appropriate manner.
  • Able to work flexible hours between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional presentation and attitude.
  • Ability to communicate with, motivate others, analyze, and solve problems, fostering a positive work environment.
  • The ability to interact closely with children at their level.
  • Enforce, understand, and comply with the Clients employment policies.
  • Ability to respond immediately to emergency situations.
  • Tech Savvy: Understands and works proficiently with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Adobe. Must be comfortable with MAC.
  • Able to attend monthly staff meetings that could last until 8:00 pm
  • Knows and understands childcare software such at: (preferred but not required)
  • ProCare, ASQ, Smore, Canva
  • Effective leader and role model at the school.
  • Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to exercise appropriate, independent judgment calls.
  • Sound knowledge of local, state, and federal childcare legislation.
  • Knowledge of early child development and appropriate practices.
  • Ability to ensure a safe, loving, learning environment for children.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years of Previous Teaching experience in a licensed childcare center.
  • Minimum 2 years of Previous Assistant Preschool Director experience in a licensed childcare center.
  • Associates and/or Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Current CDA or Early Childhood Teaching Credential
  • 5+ Years in Early Childhood Education and willing to obtain a CDA

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Current Texas Driver's License is required.
  • Proof of auto liability insurance is required.
