Assistant or Associate Professor -Safety, Health & Industrial Hygiene

Duties:

The successful candidate will instruct courses in the undergraduate Occupational Safety and Health and graduate Industrial Hygiene programs.  Some of the graduate instruction will be delivered online.  In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful applicant will be required to advise students and be active in research and other scholarly activities.  The applicant will also be expected to engage in service to the department, campus, and the profession.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD or other research doctoral degree in occupational safety and health, Industrial Hygiene, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One or more of the following certifications:
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP),
    • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH),
    • Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE), and/or
    • Professional Engineer (PE). 
  • University level teaching experience;
  • Field experience as a safety and health professional;
  • Demonstrated ability for research and proposal writing;
  • Publications in occupational safety and health.
